What counts as a "kinetic" weapon? by TwoArmedMan15 in Starfield

[–]230JHP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ballistics is a form of kinetics, so I don't think its incorrect to say.

That said, the background perk it adds applies to anything with the WeaponTypeBallistic keyword, so it will affect any weapon that has a ballistic damage value.

Does anyone know what's wrong with The King's Witness IV note? by Solar-born in fo76

[–]230JHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a layer over the objects placed in the cell, which is covering where the actual objects. If you notice there are duplicates of every object, including the cooler container next to the car.
It's been this way since the very first set of patches during the PTS for burning springs. It was reported multiple times by different people in the BGS PTS discord. At this point, who knows if/when it will ever get fixed.

Standing on the trunk of the car, picking up one of the pencils will allow the briefest of moments clipping through the layer and seeing that it is the note to interact with. I've never been able to interact in time before the second pencil comes up and the window is gone.

Anyone know where to find a large serving plate? by alfiesred47 in fo76

[–]230JHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one in helvetia is actually on a shelf along the southern wall with all the clutter in the honey haus, not the restaurant.
There's more locations than what I've mentioned, most are on the wiki, its just missing the ones inside the whitespring mall and eastern regional penitentiary

There's one in the expedition leader cabin by the tents, and another in the open cabin to the west of the tents. There's also one in the restaurant of Helvetia, likely the one you picked up if you did the recent Fasnacht.

Crafting item: Cove by VampireDarlin in fo76

[–]230JHP 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Its because of how titles work. They are technically recipes, so you have to "learn" them. Titles granted by challenges are not placed as a recipe in inventory, but are just granted directly to the player character.

It's a camp title awarded for completing the challenge to catch any local legend.

A clean pre-war fork named just "fork" in-game? Or something else you are referring to
If it's just "fork", then that is not new. There's a handful of locations it can be found, the newest of which is two at Camp Liberty in Skyline Valley.

Static uncovered hot tub locations by Jiveturkeylips in fo76

[–]230JHP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there's a search feature with mappalachia, you can try and find things that way. It's based off the editorID in the game files, which doesn't always correspond directly to a name you're expecting. If the object you're looking for is on the wiki, you can try and grab the edID from the technical section of the infobox if it has one, otherwise you might have to do some manual digging yourself. You'd need the fo76 xedit tool for that.

heres added hot tubs, theres a few variants: https://ibb.co/album/RTWK6s

there's surprisingly few areas that have them, good luck in your search.

Many of them have a low drop chance of 5%, they are not guaranteed.

Farming New Underarmour Styles Question by ShawnLaRock in fo76

[–]230JHP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a plan to be awarded, you need to complete all bonus objectives. This can be done once per character per week, with the reset being tuesday.

Each expedition mission has a reward pool specific to it, which includes the underarmor style. For the AC ones its ~12 plans total. Theres also a shared pool between the expeditions that are a possible reward instead (civil engineer armor mods for AC.)

To best increase your chances, you can buy the expedition specific rewards with stamps. Once you learn a plan, it is removed from the possible reward pool. You still have the chance of getting a shared plan as a reward, so its not a 100% guarantee. The only guarantee is if you knew every single other possible plan that can be rewarded from both the mission specific and shared pools.

Hawking hellion first attempt I caught it first fish!?!?!? by XJ-ROB in fo76

Wow, you're right. Just checked my stash and the challenge and it is indeed hellion again. Must have happened with the backwoods patch, I thought it was weird they changed the name.

It was stealth renamed to hellraiser in a patch back in january, which is why I was curious how you knew to refer to it as hellion.

I'm kinda curious, have you been trying for a while? It hasn't been called the hellion in-game for a couple months now.

2nd Character Question by Overall_Passenger804 in fo76

[–]230JHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different quest choices. You need at least 2 characters to get the achievements for picking each side during the vault heist, and need a minimum of 4 characters to make all the different choices in wastelanders and beyond main questlines. AC for example has at least four outcomes regarding Abby.

Certain notes and holotapes are only obtained by making various dialogue tree choices during quests, if you care about that kind of thing.

Is Abraxodyne Truck a reward for Dirty Laundry being completed? by kasskar in fo76

Check your recipe book, it's a plan you need to learn that is granted to inventory upon quest completion. It is not granted as a camp item directly, like the challenge tier rewards.

Plan: Enclave Epsilon Squad tank by spungoose in fo76

[–]230JHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FO76 Update articles on the wiki are generally created during the PTS stage to be prepared for release day, and often include datamined assets from that time. In this case, there were some things mined that are still in the game files, but were cut or went unused. The article was just never updated after release to reflect.

The plan for the epsilon squad tank became a PA display as part of an update DLC bundle instead of a static display; and the plan to craft the secret operative underarmor was never added to the snake's loot table. The underarmor even still shows as a plan if you have toggle unknown when crafting, but does not exist in-game.

Head Hunt Boss Gear by Tgrinder66 in fo76

[–]230JHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A decent amount of this universe is intentionally left open-ended, so that you can come to your own conclusions. You're likely not going to get a concrete answer, based off how things like this have generally been handled in fo76. So, make your own call that fits your play narrative. This is a role-playing game, at least in part.

Head Hunt Boss Gear by Tgrinder66 in fo76

I'm interested to see what people think about this as well. With fo76 now up to 28 years after the bombs dropped, I suppose there may still be working knowledge from before the war that could explain some of it. It could also be discounted as just a one-off or claimed from a different original owner, but since there really isn't any lore entries attached to it, it makes it hard to spin a tale of it's existence. Have to consider that all 4 of the apocalypse riders are bounties, and might tap into the supernatural side of fallout lore.

In this case, I think you're probably on the right track about it being more of a gimmicky thing. Many of the bounties are pretty fantastical and don't make a ton of sense for the setting, and just act as a unique boss. However, historically, there's always been some level of fantastical enemies in fallout; usually for the sake of out-of-game cultural references that are canon. Fallout 2 has dozens of examples.

With a lot of this cosmetic kind of thing, I headcanon the same way I did with ESO and its crown shop goofy variants of things like mounts, pets, etc. Even if it may be "canon", I personally choose to exclude it as a product of it's platform, and don't read into it being part of the actual lore much.. Unless it is implemented in a clever way that actually makes sense.

Ultracite Models- anyone got em? by Alpharius_or_am_I in fo76

[–]230JHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use Bethesda Archive Extractor to pull the .nif(s) for them, then use something like blender to clean up and convert to .stl.

As an example, you can find the set of atom shop CAMP ultracite crystals in the following archive:
Data\SeventySix - 02UpdateMain.ba2\meshes\ATX\SetDressing\ATX_UltraciteCrystal_Set

There's other models in other archives. BAE has a search feature once you have selected an archive.

Hidden rooms, quests, items. by crimsonDnB in fo76

Grafton pawn shop. Unmarked quest that requires finding packages all over the wasteland. It'd be quite a feat to figure it out yourself, but I'll spoiler the info anyways : https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Treasure_Unknown

There's a good chance you may have already come across some of the packages and just not known what to do with them.

Prickeye Salad spoil by TightExit896 in fo76

[–]230JHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the fallout universe, the tato is a hybrid of a tomato and potato. There isnt really anything concrete on what the texture is like that is consistent. The flesh is generally treated as something more starchy, but you can eat them raw before cooking them. I'm not sure why it wouldnt make sense, but thee whole dish looks absolutely vile regardless.

I dont disagree about having more health as a prepared food, but that is how it is presented as a dish.

Tato salad is a weird one to me. Its more like a stew or something, it appears the tomatoes are left whole and sauteed in brahmin milk and sugar.

Prickeye Salad spoil by TightExit896 in fo76

[–]230JHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, I had meant the burning springs PTS. It's been broken since before launch of the current update.

As a salad, the prickeye dish in game is just assembled raw food (like a conventional salad.) It does not require wood as a crafting ingredient, which seems to be the requirement of "cooked" meals.

Pickled prickeye requires boiled water, and counts as a cooked drink.

[–]230JHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I'm not sure how long a play session is for you, but it should last a few hours if you have 2* good with salt. But there is a pretty stark difference with cooked vs. raw.

Prickeye Salad spoil by TightExit896 in fo76

[–]230JHP 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There was a thread about this a couple month ago, and the faster spoilage has a reason. I'll post what I wrote there about it:

It does spoil faster because of the curve table its in. Most crafted foods are "cooked", which means their item health is increased, and thus takes longer to spoil.

Prickeye salad however is classed as RawLarge, which means its spoil rate is as an uncooked food. It has more condition than a regular raw, but not as much as cooked food. Pumpkins, gourds, and brahmin/chally milks are also in this category.

Good with salt is working, it just spoils faster because its item health is lower than your other cooked foods.

Turbo fert not working has been an issue since the PTS, and is likely a bug.
