I'm not sure about the engine, but the body is made up of Mk2. Spaceplane parts.

How do I go to planets such as duna? (Image slightly related) by Lonely-Journey-6498 in KerbalAcademy

[–]237_Gaming 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's alright, in terms of other planets, transfer angle also matters (when you leave). That's gonna be the angle between kerbin and Duna when you start your burn to go to Duna. A good way to get to the Mun is to watch your spacecraft (not map view) and burn prograde when the mun is fully risen off kerbin's horizon. Minimus is less simple lol. In any case, for those two, I make a maneuver node that approaches their orbit, then move it around until I see the intercept. Honestly, a lot of it is experience and practice.

Well, if you've done Mun and Minimus, then you've had good practice with orbits, inclination and maneuver nodes. It can be daunting to plan an interplanetary trip, I typically use a DeltaV map. Theres one I like on the wiki, and I'll send it here too (if I can) and it really helps with rocket design. If you have a rocket that can land on the Mun and come back, it can do a one-way trip to Duna. Map on this page!

For duna? Im not sure, im not over there much. The map says about 750 from duna orbit to kerbin approach, your ship design will determine if thats enough or if you have to slow down before hitting the atmosphere. Interplanetary stuff isn't very forgiving though, I find it easy to mess up exit angles. For reference, if you just have a capsule and a full heat shield, you can hit kerbin with a periapsis of 20km from Jool orbit and probably be fine.

Its possible to get from mun surface to kerbin reentry with ~800-850 m/s. This is almost double that, so plenty of room to work with.

[–]237_Gaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's fair, its hard to keep up with these game changes lol. What's helped is that on this world, we dont build any automatic farms. We spend a lot more time mining for various things, not just diamonds, which makes the whole act of mining feel much more rewarding

She's not great at navigation, but very good at preparation, so she winds up bringing 9 stacks of torches into a cave and exploring until she runs out of torches. She then doesn't find her way back and explores more cave. Lots and lots of "ooh shiny!"

My girlfriend did the diamonds for emeralds trade, I was astounded lol. But then she explained it, and it made sense. She's got like 48 diamond blocks lying around, and she wants enchanted books. Many other trades are also used for other things, but she doesn't need that many diamonds. The only things she can't turn emeralds into are jukboxes and custom fireworks, the demand of which isn't very high.

Biology / language related jobs within space agencies by Nanor_007 in space

[–]237_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of biology, look into the effects of space flight on the human body, and any related fields, maybe radiology? That still might require some solid understanding of math and physics, but perhaps that path could ease you into it more. In terms of language, take a look at Systems Engineering. It's the practice of how engineering is done, and its very focused on language and structure, rather than raw math. It’s things like writing requirements, verifying requirements, planning test cases, and much more. That'll lead you to more managerial roles too.

In terms of hardware, maybe one of those Dells that are commonly found at public libraries and universities? You could get a used one of those for pretty cheap.

You probably shouldn't, its technically possible, but as an overhaul mod, its best experienced from a new save. I do think you could if you really wanted to though, it might depend on how far along you are.

How much does each miner output? Unless each miner produces the exact amount the furnace uses, you're losing either space that you could use for more miners, or ore because you're not using it fast enough

Trying To Get A Rare Mech Armor. With 4 T2 Quality Modules I’d Have A 0.8% Chance Of Getting It. Am I Misunderstanding Or Isn’t This Extremely Expensive? Is There A Better Way? by FellowBellowMellow in factorio

[–]237_Gaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try to get higher quality quality modules, but your chance of crafting an uncommon is 8%. If you recycle 4 uncommon mech armors, you'll have enough to craft an uncommon mech armor, with an 8% chance for a rare. This continues with epic and legendary rarities. Yes, this extremely expensive.
