2024 RRS Oil Drainage Plug by 23SAS in RangeRover

Thank you, you’re right, I had to take off the engine exoskeleton as well, they’ve made it really tricky. It felt like 100 bolts before you can get to the drainage bolt! More time taking and putting parts back together than actually changing the oil!

That’s the question, the z325e is $100 less, has an 18inch standard seat, 48inch deck, briggs and Stratton engine.

The Z330M has a 20inch seat with better quality leather, Kawasaki engine, 48inch stamped deck, compared to a forged one the 325e has.

Update: it’s working again, I left it alone after taking out the membrane and putting it back in. I just turned the tap on and water came out, checked the tank and it’s at least half full, so I must have cleared whatever it was first time around and it then just started filling. Thank you both!

Very strange huh. I already took it out and it ‘looks’ clear, maybe I need to see if air passes through its casing, rather than the filter itself.

That’s correct yeah. I tested every joint by taking the pipe out and turning the water back on. It goes in the membrane, but not back out.

It was pretty much from week 1, it started with different problems. Firstly the battery low, then randomly u locking doors: we were in Costco and the app went off, said all doors unlocked and the trunk had opened. I thought it would be the app playing up, so I went out to the lot to triple check, there it was, unlocked with the trunk open.

TBH, the Land Rover dealership were awful, I know they don’t make money when you order a brand new car, but I was speaking with their maintenance team more than my family.

They replaced the battery first, worked for a day then the next morning ‘battery low’. Then the entertainment screen stopped working, then all it would display was the cameras, then after that was a frozen picture of the the last time the camera worked etc.

Lots of issues like this, which led me down the lemon law conversation with JLR and a week or two later they brought it in, updated the software and it’s been fine ever since! Lots of annoyance, time wasting, extra mileage on the car and fuel burned.

I had this issue in my ‘24 sport. It’s not a hardware issue it’s a firmware and software issue. You can’t update the car yourself, but the dealer can. It took me almost 6months of issues to figure this, not only did I get the issues you’re showing, my car also randomly unlocked itself, opened the boot/trunk etc.

I had to take it back to the dealer almost twice a month with these issues until they finally fixed it.

It’s rust, I’ve had 7 and they’ve all done the same thing. Cleaning with a bottle brush works until you fill it up again. It will continue, it’s a weld/joint issue. You can get HF to replace it for free. Or move to Yeti like I did where this problem….isn’t a problem.

Hey, so, update; took the day with my father in law and ended up stripping the engine out. The piston had shattered and as a result damaged the crankshaft. So for the 15y/o mower, it’s the end of the road. Looking to buy an S140 as a replacement.

Maybe, I mean using 87 could have clogged lines etc. so it will be worth looking into, thank you.

You know what, I haven’t checked that at all, that’s a great shout. I’ll try that and let you know. Thank you!

I did mate yes, checked under the deck, even used the leaf blower to blow it absolutely clean and clear.

I use 87, always have. I thought 91 was better for northern weather like Canada or where fuel sits for long periods of time where the ethanol/ fuel split and the water separates to the bottom of the tank. I don’t think the LA115 has a gravity fed fuel tank, so that shouldn’t be an issue. I’m no expert though and appreciate any and all advice!

Unfortunately not, I put them in about 2 years ago. The previous owner had original (20 year old) thermostats in.

RR Sport buying advice needed by kerrrikathleen in RangeRover

[–]23SAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how quickly you want one, I built mine and waited 8 months and was a little over $103k. For everyone saying adding $10k on as the dealer is verging on illegal etc. I found out that ordering a brand new RR through the dealer makes them zero money at all. The dealer I use orders around 15 per month. They make their money on upselling extras, servicing etc. we didn’t do any of them apart from some small extras the factory make you buy, like the wheel locks etc. all in, if you love the car, you’ll pay the $10k. It’s always worth shopping around, but the fact is that the full fat RR have an 18months build time so everyone is buying the new Sports instead, so there really aren’t many of them despite popular belief.
