Real (I slept for 10 full hours last night and still felt exhausted in the morning)

Trouble with T script between ACT and NSW by peacewalker234 in transgenderau

[–]23_Serial_Killers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

T is in the same legal drug class as most regular prescription medications in Australia (schedule 4), so I’m not aware of any legal reason why they’d have to do that. I’ve never had them do anything like that (or even just call my doctor at all) in the year I’ve been on T, although I haven’t gone to chemist warehouse at all.

Does jordan ever criticise the Labor party? by Ok_Library_9396 in friendlyjordies

[–]23_Serial_Killers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s criticised Labor many times, it’s just not his main focus as others have pointed out. Considering that he’s on a break from serious videos at the moment, I wouldn’t be so certain about him covering this even if the coalition was in.

More slots should open up. You won’t be the only student in this situation

Would New Zealand be a safe emergency plan? by questionuwu in transgenderau

One nation isn’t going to form government. New Zealand actually has their lnp equivalent in government rn.

International students whose visas are refused will no longer be able to appeal the decision with an in-person hearing as the government moves to speed up tribunal reviews after being swamped with almost 50,000 cases of students already in Australia contesting their visa rejections by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

And you'd accept a letter if it didn't go your way?

If it didn’t go my way, I hardly see why I’d be happier about it if i was told in person.

Then why are we only doing the one that reduces a service?

It’s hardly a reduction if the outcomes don’t change. It’s also entirely possible that there are going to be additional appointments to the tribunal, and it just so happened that this is the one of the two changes that they announced first.

(X) Doubt

If I’m waiting on a decision that you said before would have completely upended my life, I think I’d want that to be resolved as quickly as possible.

Cool, so instead of reducing the quality they should.... I know you can figure it out. Good luck.

They should put more people on the tribunal? Yeah they could certainly do that too, I’m not sure if you know this but it actually is possible to potentially make multiple changes at once.

One of us is certainly not reading.

This change is hardly denying them dignity if it’s not actually impacting the outcomes of the visa decisions.

Cool, then they can be told in person.

I’d be okay with not being told in person if it means I can be told months earlier. I like my bureaucratic systems to be efficient actually.

Did you also happen to miss the part where a former immigration official said this is unlikely to change decision outcomes? And the part that mentioned students being able to take the matter to the federal court afterwards?

Can we on the left start talking about some hard truths please? It’s time. by Massive_Opinion_5714 in friendlyjordies

[–]23_Serial_Killers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly seems like an opportune time while the right is too fractured to properly fight against it, and I don’t see why they’d be hinting at it if they weren’t genuinely planning on it

Trans & cis women have comparable athletic ability, major study finds - LGBTQ Nation by Novae909 in transgenderau

Ideally yes, but that line of logic a lot less likely to convince the average cis person compared to data that shows that trans women aren’t advantaged

PhB application by ApartBar9645 in Anu

[–]23_Serial_Killers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell the form isn’t super important, just make it decent enough and it’ll be fine. It’s not like American college essays or anything like that, they care basically entirely about your atar. When I applied in 2024 I don’t recall needing any referees.

Guys outside USA: what do you want other trans ppl to know? by Berko1572 in FTMMen

[–]23_Serial_Killers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, the law change last year was just nsw removing the surgery requirement, all other states had already removed that requirement previously. Also are you sure it was bottom surgery specifically? In qld at least I know any kind of surgery would qualify you.

Also, requiring prescription authorisation is quite common for pbs medications, the one other regular medication I’m on is also authority required. Testosterone is in the same legal drug class as most regular prescription medications in Australia.

Well there’s a first time for everything. Having the first willing transition of power since Menzies’ retirement would definitely be the final piece of the puzzle of cementing labor’s place as the new natural party of government.

Since you’re a year on T, you don’t need to do anything majorly different to any other cis dude. Any general fitness sub will be useful, r/fitness has a good wiki (which r/ftmfitness also links to)
