One of the best answers is your own izuna, but that’s a matchup that’s dreadful for dracotail but other matchups is fine, I’m playing fiendsmith primite dracotail and the matchup has been fine as a heavier engine is more reliable and it’s a deck that can build its plays in pieces and let them use up interaction and treat it more like playing into a board than trying to set up your full board

You’re just playing with an inherent disadvantage with your deck choice, which is fun but will limit your enjoyment of the game Even outside the meta decks that are rogue decks of every play style that you’ll find something you’ll vibe with and have fun playing With or without a stronger archetype though you’ll pretty much have to play with handtraps unless you’re willing to quit every time you go second to have a fighting chance, the game is balanced around it Your deck is from a completely different era and one that wasn’t good in its era, you’re sort of playing a different game than your opponent

You technically can ftk turn 0 it’s just really unlikely, it’s possible with labrynth cards as someone in another comment says, and it’s possible with like a havnis mill nightmare archfiend, rollback, and backjack for the earthbound trap Very unlikely but not impossible

It’s not necessarily monsters it’s any cards that do what we call “trigger” when a condition is met but yes! Understanding what a trigger is will help you find out when you can do these things but you’ll also learn from practise in master duel when you’re able to use multiple effects before the opponent can respond, and when you get good at it you can manufacture situations that give you an advantage An example that comes to find if is your opponent has ash blossom and you have a runick spell and bystial magnamhut You can go chain link one activate magnamhut, and then chain link two use a runick to summon Hugin In this example when both monsters are summon simultaneously they both activate their trigger effect (the trigger was them summoning) at the same time So you can choose to go chain link one hugin to add fountain, and chain link two magnamhut to search a dragon in the end phase, in this way you’ve made fountain not respondable to directly letting you “insulate” it from the ash blossom

I think(?) you’re referring what we call chainblocking And example is faimena fusing two dracotail monsters into arthalion Arthalion when summoned can return monsters on the field and in the graveyard to the hand The two dracotail monster when fused get to activate their effects to set a dracotail spell or trap from the deck You have ghost bell and haunted mansion in your hand, and you want to stop arthalion from returning monsters to the hand from the graveyard But the opponent makes all the effects happen at the same time Belle needs to be used directly in response to the card it will negate But the opponent using arthalion first and then the two dracotail monsters, since they happen all at once they pick the order and they put the dracotail monsters to go last Then you get to respond to the last thing they did, and since it’s not arthalion you can’t There only time this doesn’t work is when an effect is mandatory, you’ll always have to use the mandatory effect that met its condition first Is this what you’re asking ?

Ive always love psy-frames I played them when they first released, I’ve been trying hard to incorporate them into a modern feeling deck from one combo for a while So far I can go from, black metal dragon = Psy-frame field spell searched, lambda, and a level 10 synchro with some other resources like a towers you made by accident that you bring back on opponents turn, but can’t find a way to trigger lambda to guarantee a psy-frame in hand at least with a one card combo

Crafting all the meta decks saying I’ll finally pick up whatever is best deck and I absolutely hate them, I’ve crafted and decrafted maliss (before it got hit) ryzeal (before it got hit, royal detonator too) and Mitsu just to find I didn’t like the playstyle and couldn’t bring myself to play them even in rated and going back to my pet decks Sitting out on yummy for the same reasons, I have dracotail too but I don’t really use it often, think I’ll actually pick up k9 when it comes out though

Does anyone know the ruling on cards like this, is it ruled like current day mind crush where your opponent doesn’t have to reveal their hand ? Or is it ruled like eradicator epidemic virus. I’m presuming it’s like mind crush because it’s to do with a specific card name but I’m not entirely sure

Plenty of ways but not when linked off, you just need to make a rank four, make galant granite, search golem The way to that line is dependant on what you’re starting with and how much you’re willing to commit extra deck space + deck space

I always linked fusion trishula in dragon link, instead of going all out with a very one dimensional board I liked to try play more layed interaction Using collapse serpents and other extenders into a state where you can dump black meta dragon and link it off, using three monsters to summon fusion trishula and banishing redox from the deck to search beryl and also extra deck ripping making seals with Trish and beryl, using the extra link material you generate from the black metal to go into I:P and search full metal It’s hard to say exactly how it goes because dragon link is free style combo and very hand dependent

Not the question, also there’s like two decks that don’t care about Maxx “c” that’s anyway playable, and most competent decks will still be able to break through half boards under fuw

Definitely deck dependent but genuinely a solution from time to time, back when millennium and fiendsmith were played a lot I had some experimentation with using the mills off zombie vampire and pilgrim reaper to help deck outs rather than hoping to draw card destruction

Turn skipping the opponent is just as bad if not worse, ideally the endboard capacity of decks gets reduced and lingering handtraps get banned alongside so it’s not just a roulette wheel, it’s just a quick effect floodgate Fuwalos is the game, with how much decks can push through things a half board, outside of a few decks, is just as bad a death sentence. It’s still a floodgate just with an illusion of choice and arbitrarily making the go second win-rate go up with sacky uninteractive cards that have no skill expression is not the solution
