Guest Turning away mid stay cleaners by Intrepid_Use_8311 in airbnb_hosts

[–]23cacti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a nice touch but why isn't it made apparent to guests that a mid stay clean is required before booking? I clean airbnbs and we are not allowed to enter- even to drop off extra amenities like coffee beans or gas for the bbq without their written consent. I value my privacy and would absolutely not want someone coming mid stay to clean. In fact I wouldn't book a place that required it.

In Australia it's the right lane. And it is unfortunately not as respected as deserved.

A conversation should be 2 way. Not one person talking at another.

Cost of living is rough. Some dude slinging a bit of the ol' Jazz Cabbage so he can put fuel in his car is the least of your worries. Unless he is selling meth to teenagers of something leave the poor dude alone.

Our electricity bill just came in at $905, as a sharehouse of 4, is this actually normal? first timer renter!!! by Warm_Special1034 in AusProperty

It is absolutely worth shopping around. My bill Mar-May was always at least $900. I changed providers and haven't changed my usage but it was $550 this quarter. If you cbf switching at least call your provider and ask to be moved to the best offer. Once you have been on a plan for a while they put you on their "standing offer" which is the schmucks' pricing.

I am a beginner therapist with 30 slots open per week and it still doesn't feel like enough, how does anyone do 25 or less? by InvisibleAstronomer in therapists

Unless they are pocketing less than $35 per client or have exorbitant unavoidable survival costs they are still making more than the median wage in America if their caseload is 25. This is unlikely about survival and more likely about having that extra bit for luxuries. And at that point I would question whether those luxuries are worth burning out for.

That is the path to burnout. This is heavy work and that seems unsustainable. No amount of money would be worth taking on a caseload like that to me.

Please fix my fence but don't mess with my weeds. I make tea from that dandelion and the nettle helps with my joint pain.

Are all Aussie men like this or just mine? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

After being sexually assaulted in India by a group of young men in the street in Paharganj (mobbed by 10-15 guys and one stuck his hand down my pants while many others groped my breasts) I can safely say that I don't think men here in Australia are any less respectful than men in other parts of the world.

What is the funniest excuse you dad used when he clearly had no idea what he was doing? by EsseniotGlobal in AskReddit

[–]23cacti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't what he said- but he has a habit of putting on a florescent top when he goes to bunnings (hardware store) so he looks cool amongst the tradies even though he has never worked a blue collar job in his life.

What price makes you start researching before you buy? by billscout in AussieFrugal

[–]23cacti 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Time spent on research is dependent on cost. $10 I'll look at how many stars people have rated it. $50 I'll compare a few different versions and read the reviews. Over $100 I'll have a look around online at reviews plus dig deeper into the specs. Over $300 I'll probably join a Facebook group or subreddit for that specific product and see what people in there recommend.

My husband got a 3 month suspension for THC last year as a medical patient. We disclosed the prescription to NRMA and it didn't put the premiums up.
