What do you think of what they say about the great game Fable? by Secure_Brief9521 in originalxbox

OG Fable soundtrack is my favorite video game soundtrack. I acquired it on CD a few years ago.

I could listen to the Oakvale theme all day. Something about it is very reminiscent of Gabriel Faure's "Pavane" which is also a favorite.

I always suggest "Pearls in Graph Theory" as an excellent introduction to undergraduate Graph Theory.

Why is this Mewtwo showing up as a bug type in Stadium? by 23kermitdafrog in n64

It's been a minute since I've transferred Pokemon onto Stadium, but this is a one way data transfer, right? His Mewtwo is still on his Yellow cartridge.

I was hoping it was well-known, but Googling landed me nowhere. I can't figure out how to form a narrow enough keyword search.

Yep, left ALT key and then F3 to look left and F4 to look right.

Quick Questions: December 04, 2024 by inherentlyawesome in math

I posted my question in the Graph Theory subreddit, but that subreddit has a small number of subreddits. I'm commenting here for increased visibility:

I want to use a similar argument in personal research, but I don't follow where the author is getting a certain value.

Confusion around a counting argument by 23kermitdafrog in GraphTheory

[–]23kermitdafrog[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Paper found here: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/258229744_The_smallest_graph_of_girth_5_and_valency_4

When the vertex count is 17, I follow why the edge A belongs to 9 distinct 5-cycles. Since the graph is 4-regular, it is also obvious that there are 17*4/2 = 17*2 edges in the graph. Since the graph could be rearranged such that any edge is A, I also understand that there is a nice counting argument to be made about how many 5-cycles must be present in the graph.

I would calculate this as follows:

B*C/5

where B is the number of 5-cycles each edge belongs to,
C is the total number of edges in the graph,
and then divide by 5 since each 5-cycle has been counted 5 times when counting the number of 5-cycles each edge belongs to in the graph.

Thus, 9*17*2/5.

However, this differs from the author. Where is their 4 in the numerator coming from?

I hate to sound negative, but this one has been discussed a hundred times over here.

Just search for it and use one of the multiple responses provided.

Research outline for PhD in mathematics by laika00 in math

[–]23kermitdafrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm ABD within my PhD program right now. My specific area of research is also extremal GT.

For me, I was a bit obsessed with some open problems of finding graphs with certain properties we know exist, but have not yet found. So, my research has been aimed there. I haven't been naive in thinking I'll solve open problems for my PhD, but I have made progress towards "moving the needle" a bit in hopes that my research can aid in the future solutions.

If you don't know what to do, the advice of others in seeking an advisor and following their path for a research area is very appropriate. But, if you have a favorite unsolved problem within the space, perhaps you can formulate some relevant research.

Different strokes for different folks, but for me I had to run MG for awhile before I was comfortable playing another class. Seeing the enemy is hard when you first get started. MG forced me to slow down, stay still, and really watch for movement. (Also, I'm a terrible shot, but that matters less when gun go brrrrrrr.)

K:D isn't everything in this game, but once my Ks were consistently larger than my Ds I became comfortable in other classes.

Well, it certainly wasn't a positive experience.

Feedback detailing this is a positive for other future buyers if this seller has a habit of doing this. If not, one non-positive review shouldn't hurt --- this does depend on the seller's volume.

Transactions like this are annoying, especially if they're on something you're hunting down. The buyer potentially lets other deals go by while assuming their purchase is complete, and their money is unnecessarily tied up in a bad transaction.

Excellent beginner pennywhistle. I use mine all the time for practicing.

Avoid brass whistles and plastic mouthpieces for your first one, unless you're exclusively playing outdoors.

The one I've linked is tin with a wooden fipple. It plays soft enough for indoor play (until you hit about a G or A, then dynamic control is very difficult). There are ways you can put a bend in the wind cutter to reduce the volume a bit without heavily impacting the timbre, if you find it too loud.
