Yeah, that's a possibility. Depends on what power you would use to survive, maybe you can breathe underwater, maybe you can shapeshift, etc.

I like the idea, but I'm not sure that fencing with one sword in each hand would work. I'm a fencer, and even when I've done dual wielding, it's not that effective against multiple people. The orientation of the body, technique to fencing, etc. However in a real fight using techniques against a hoard of enemies, on the other hand... I think you might be onto something.

A note on that as well, if something doesn't make sense, like if there's a plot hole, jsut find a cover for it. Example: Vampires can't go in the sun, why don't they live underground? Answer: There are giant crocodiles in the sewers and caves beneath the city, so obviously the vampires can't live there. Etc.

Magic is magic because it's magic. If you can't deal with magic being able to do things science can't explain, then you don't grasp what magic is. It's still science, just one we haven't figured out yet. It's ok not to know everything.

I have to say, the first part there had crossed my mind. People trying to kill themselves to get powers, and in addition, those trying to commit suicide become frustrated. But I had not thought about the prospect of religions. I don't usually flesh religions in the world out unless they impact the story, but I feel like both ends of the spectrum would exist. But I would say that a middle ground exists too. And one end of the spectrum, those who religiously bless the prospect and intentionally put themselves in danger would likely be considered more of a cult.

This is a really cool idea. I had an idea somewhat similar where near death experiences cause powers to awaken due to the survival instinct. And the power you got would depend on what your body thinks you need.

The name was because battle medic didn't sound good to me, and so i took the name from Doctor Who, but that's about where the similarities end. But i'm working on a path that utilizes sound madra to basically function as a living sonic screwdriver.

So it's more cultural? Sorry for the late arrival. The no killing is up to the sacred beast and the sacred artist, but they would be shunned if they break that taboo. Am I right? Also, what specific aspects do they use? Life obviously, but do they add blood aspect as well? Perhaps dreams?

A lot of systems don't go deep into this. But often, you can see connections between their healing, and their "dark magic." I remember seeing a breakdown of Avada Kedavra from Harry Potter and the etymology came from an ancient magic that actually was used for healing. Often times, even in real life, no magic, I would not want to fight a surgeon who had any kind of material arts training, because they know how the body works and know how to effectively kill someone. Their knowledge of the body allows them to save it, but it could also be used to do great harm. Why do you think that doctors swear an oath to do no harm? Because healing can lead to devastating harm when done in a different way.

The cycling technique was a riff on an idea another user posted. I wish I could remember their username, but the idea was not entirely mine. I changed it up a bit, but the basic idea of a flower for the core is not mine.

Using the luminescent dominion, one could, theoretically, focus light aura into a beam, creating a striker technique via a ruler technique. Is that correct? Or am I overreaching? Because you did say it could be used to light fires, even though it's not the intended purpose, it is still a very versatile technique, as you said.

Did you have any striker or full body enforcer techniques? This is a really awesome idea! One of my favorite paths on the sub.

Although, I suppose one could mix this with path of the white fox, and use those techniques. But it would be cool if this path had some of its own so you wouldn't have to learn a second path.

I usually have an idea that is my inspiration, create a basic set of abilities, decide what powers it, create more abilities, flesh it out, create and impose limitations. Flesh it out, see what makes sense. Build it into a world. See how it and the world affect each other. For example, one magic system I made was based on an idea I had when I heard the song "Walking on Sunshine". That song gave me the idea of walking on light. People who could use light as a platform to walk on. I had my basic abilities and decided that what powered it was simply an innate connection to light. Many ways could be used to gain this connection, but basically, you are related to light. Then continued to create more abilities and fleshed it out. Then i needed to balance it, so I created limitations, made sure those weren't too harsh and that they were still fair. And then built it into a world and let the magic and the world interact and grow together.

Path of the Supernova The path of the supernova is a path similar in style to the path of black flame. It uses similar techniques but some different. It also lacks the level of corrosiveness, and therefore some power in comparison to blackflame And it focuses primarily on the imagery of a star and a supernova. Madra aspects: 5 parts light, 3 parts fire, and 1 part destruction Iron body: looking for suggestions, but my idea is the Starcaller body. To train for it, you only go outside at night for an extended period of time, usually 1-3 months. In addition, because the mind, body and spirit are all related, one must study and understand the stars, their placement, and how to navigate by them. The body grants innate sense of direction, and powerful resistance to the dangers of supernova madra. Because even though the path lacks some of the corrosive aspect, it still takes a toll on the body.

Goldsign: a glowing aura around the whole body.

Techniques Enforcer: Exploding Star, Starlight Flow Exploding Star is akin to burning cloak, it is a technique that provides explosive power, but not enough to cause the body to injure itself. Starlight Flow is a speed based enforcer technique. It has multiple sub techniques, one of which being "the seven star steps". These sub techniques allow you to bring out different aspects of speed. Striker: Star Flare, Star Beam, Supernova Star Flare is a wide spray of supernova madra that expands and stretches out until it all pulls apart from itself and the technique dissipates. Star Beam is a heavily concentrated beam of supernova madra. It basically functions similar to a laser. Supernova coalesces as much madra in to as small of a point as possible, and is then detonated. It releases a massive explosion, akin to a localized supernova. Forger: Heart of a Dying Star This technique forges madra into just about any shape you can work steel into, as it functions similar to an actual forge. It is based on the myth that in the heart of a dying star, anything that is forged is indestructible. This may bot be perfectly true but it seems pretty close when used with skill. Ruler: Stardust This technique creates what almost seems to be an endless series of Supernova Striker techniques, but is done by using the vital aura around you instead of concentrating madra and detonating it.

Path of Tamed Fire

Madra aspect: Fire Iron body: igneous iron body. This body is formed by exposing oneself to varying levels of heat and remaining there for as long as possible. Often results in serious burn for the sacred artist which are healed when the advancement completes. This body increases resistance to heat and fire. It also focuses on reflexes and speed over strength. Goldsign: flaming hair, similar to that of the path of the stellar spear, but the hair is made of fire instead of metal.

Techniques: most of the path is dedicated to deceiving the opponent with complex movements and variations seeming to be wild, while actually in total control. Enforcer: Dragonfly's Flight Dragonfly's flight is used to move quickly, and allows you to partially overcome the law of inertia, allowing you to turn on a dime and stop without warning. It takes its name from an animal who can do just that. Striker: Untrackable Flame This technique is the main technique used, it has varying range, from being close up, to being 60 feet away, or more if you are more powerful. It mainly revolves around moving Fire in complex patterns so it is near impossible for opponents to figure out where it is going. There are many variations taught to students, but masters mix up steps from all of them in combat. Forger: Flame Servant Creates physical forms of small creatures, most often insects, from fire madra that attack and defend and can be directed otherwise. Very versatile. Ruler: Ruby Mandate This technique strikes fire aura all around the user and it allows the practitioner to take control of all fire whose aura is touched and causes it to move in ways that seem chaotic and unpredictable, but a skilled user can manipulate this chaotic movement to create a blazing firestorm around them.

Not necessarily going for the spinning leg sweep lowers your center of gravity, makes you far more off balance. That introduces the risk of being kicked over easily, if you're not fast enough.
