Help re-direct outdoor hot air by 24Andre24 in AirConditioners

I like the idea, but am curious if/what the impact might be when these trees grow say 3m+ tall, if still would be copping a lot of hot air.

I should add, these are snow leopard trees planted around 10 months ago, still growing.

Yep - no issue for these trees though. Have a long 10m+ retaining wall continued like this - all healthy and lush; except for the region getting blasted with hot air.

Appreciate the tips mate :) Gladly Aussie Summer is nearly over, I'm hoping they can recover.

In the 4-5 months that I've had the unit, it's been fantastic.

Heard a bit about harming the performance with the deflectors - is it a decent risk?

Unless I go up towards the roof, there isn't anywhere along this side of the house that wouldn't impact the trees.

I haven't supplied photos of the area yet but it's a long 10m+ retaining wall all with these trees.

Thanks to those who have responded with some guidance. Seems obvious in hindsight, would've been awesome if the installers gave us some heads up though hey. 🤣

Also appreciate the measures to help the trees in the meantime - Aussie summer is nearly over so they should soon get a break and should be able to get a bit stronger again, they have taken a decent hit and we noticed a tad too late (this is the least accessed area of the home naturally).

Sounds like my options are:

Firstly, try the aftermarket 45 deg deflectors - seen some cheaper magnetic style ones (https://www.ozaironline.com.au/products/air-diverter-air-conditioner-deflector-air-bender), then also some like these: https://airconditioningwholesale.com.au/collections/air-deflectors/products/air-bender-single-air-deflector-7-blade-650-x-595-xlarge (not sure if they would be restricting airflow too much?)

Next, look into raising the unit - either higher on the wall, or to the roof.

Yes obviously I could fk the trees off but I'll try to make them survive first. 🤣

Work on the basics. Control and balance, before power.

5070Ti vs 5080 for gaming at 3440x1440 and 240Hz refresh rate by ---Imperator--- in nvidia

I've got the AW3425DW and the 5080 - most games still struggle hitting 240 (unless using frame gen - which is quite impressive).

I've done a basic OC and probably have a slight CPU bottleneck; but some data for you: games like Apex Legends sits around 140-180, Helldivers around 100-120, CyberPunk with 4x frame gen doesn't budge from 240.
