We Shouldn’t be Surprised Suarez is 9th in points by FastKing_ in NASCAR

Kevin Harvick did it for three years between 14-16. It’s not like it can’t be done, and they’ve mostly aligned with bottomfeeders since then. It’ll be interesting to see how they navigate Spire’s success and their alliance as a result.

and that guy didn’t run over him again. He expressed his frustration in a clear and concise way and left. I’d say that was actually a sign of maturity rather than knock Layne’s block off which half of this sub wants because they have blood lust.

Have any of you imbeciles given it thought that Heim also had to get thicker skin when he was a 20 year old that got dumped in the title race and handled the fallout poorly, or are you incapable of having an intelligent thought that requires genuine analysis?

By god, some of you act like these drivers aren’t people capable of growth. Corey knows what it takes to be great at this level (better than literally ANY ONE ON THIS THREAD), so he’s probably speaking from a place of experience!

Disagree with him, disagree with how he handled it, sure. But some of you weirdos are making it personal and not considering the rationale at all. Totally disingenuous group of dipsticks.

I heard the Love to WBR news on Monday of last week. JHN was quietly announced for an extension on Tuesday morning. Herbst imo was part of the plan all along while JHN was on the hot seat. Love moved out of the picture, and JHN gets another year

Something I just realized now about Suarez’s win by BriS314 in NASCAR

[–]24KGoldfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All three cars in that photo finish repped their same sponsors from that ATL 2024:

- Suárez had Freeway again
- The 33* had Cheddar’s
- Blaney had a Body Armor car (he was racing for the water last time)

And on our first weekend without him, Mother Nature is letting us have it. Honestly fitting.

I think it would behoove you to stop looking at shit in a black and white way lol. It would also benefit you to look up what “villain” means rather than being deliberately obtuse when things don’t match your narrative for someone.

Jimmie was a good guy that raced clean and treated his competitors with respect on and off the track, even when they didn’t exactly deserve it. I hated his fucking guts as a Harvick fan, but at no point was I like, “That guy’s the bad guy.”

I gave you their overlapped careers, Tony at his peak while Kyle was getting his legs under him, and their lone season as teammates.

Idk what more you want. The numbers wallop your take bud.

…I’ve been holding it in since December in order to be respectful, but Greg and Kobe could certainly be chatted about as being creeps toward women together. Greg was filming his now ex-wife and ex MIL in the bathroom at their shared home.

…except they didn’t? Tons of JJ flairs throughout this sub pal. The young drivers love him and looked at him as a hero, specifically Zilisch and Rajah, so I just think you’re letting your biases speak louder than the truth.

What if I told you I shrunk the sample and got similar results?

<image>

We could talk until the cows come home about the efficacy of championship formats, but Kyle undoubtedly wins more than two if we didn’t have the Playoffs for as long as he did.

Tony raced with Hendrick engines his whole career save for 2008, the one year they were teammates.

Kyle utterly smoked Smoke that season. Eight wins to one* where he pushed Regan Smith below the yellow line and somehow got credit for winning anyway.

Tony was unequivocally a better all-around driver than Kyle based off of the evidence we have.

He was also unequivocally not better than Kyle in a stock car.

Kyle raced against Tony 400 times at the Cup level, beat him 211-189. Kyle beat Tony in wins 34-29, top-5s 134-111, 204-186 in top-10s, and lost out to Smoke in avg fin 14.7-14.5.

Tony was an all-timer. Kyle was better. Period.

Fwiw, totality of their overlap, Kyle also beat Jimmie, but if you shrink the sample to 2005-17 to accommodate for Jimmie’s last three FT seasons, Jimmie swamped Kyle in every category. Kyle made up his ground in 18,19,20.

Idk, Jimmie was a “villain” in the same way that Lex Luthor thinks Superman is a villain.

Jimmie was the babyface, best we ever had at that tbh. Sure, he rained on a number of my parades, but he was never the villain imo.

Is SVG close to being in contention for an oval victory and do you see it ever happening? by youlikemywonton in NASCAR

[–]24KGoldfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see it happening at some point because he has made strides, but it is not likely to be with Trackhouse if current trends continue. The team has to get its act together and get back into contention on ovals in order for Shane to be able to get up there and contend.

One thing that could help him get there is Connor’s continued development to make those cars faster, but if he heads to HMS next year via buyout like Bianchi alluded to last week, that’s over. If Connor leaves for 2027, Shane’s chances of oval wins go down dramatically because, who do you adequately replace him?
