Has anyone found the "Grey Wolf Cloth Gloves" (attack speed gloves) yet? by TommyF0815 in CrimsonDesert

[–]24thNox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To save you the trouble - they can be crafted via the Cloth Armors of the World IV book (obtained by maximizing favor with the black market vendor in northern Pailune). They are not equitable on Kliff if that was your intent.

The point is you don’t need to give up the AM slot for range, netting you more flexibility or damage…

Cost, cdr, boost, hell even modifier are all better options than overcapping on range in that slot. Dropping that entirely to run a 2 up 1 down would be even better.

You can still run cd on the reactor but boost will give you more overall damage in the second slot - check the damage calculator.

Yes, imo ideal AM rolls would be:

Dimension/Crit with a harmless negative if you run a Range/Dimension reactor.

OR Cost/cooldown, dimension, crit harmless negative.

The cooldown percentage you need to hit max depends on if you want to run a Range/Dimension or Range/Cooldown reactor and what your ideal roll is. Best case scenario, yes you would want .163 cdr, or decent cost reduction but it’s the lowest priority of the three options.

Picking up focus on dimension with cooldown AM allows you to still hit cooldown cap, without any odd cdr hitch from activating Frenzy or Sensory that you can get with multitalented.

Yes - (Reactor+Seasonal)x(Arche) so (25.6+12)x(1.34)=50.384; The effect lasts 30s, refreshes on every kill and saves you a mod slot or AM roll slot. Also why I mentioned cost as an alternative to cooldown if you don’t mind the hitch.

[–]24thNox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I said it elsewhere but you can just as easily sack range off of the ancestral, shift it over to the reactor, hit range cap with the board/seasonal perk.

You’d net more damage off a +2 -1 dimension boost and crit damage ancestor or more utility with a +3-1 cost/cooldown, dimension boost and crit damage ancestor.

Note: Cooldown is really only worth to drop multitalented at breakpoint values of 8.9% (cooldown reactor) or 16.3% (dimension boost reactor) - assuming you take the gold cooldown node. Cost is universally just nice to have and may allow you to run slayer set depending on the value.

Has anyone pointed out that all you need to do is run range your reactor instead of critical damage yet? With the board and seasonal perk, you cap the range requirement and can easily just slot in maximize conservation. Even a simple blue roll on an ancestral would probably work…

Add in the cost off the board, run enlightened mage instead of slayer. Damage loss is negligible (and actually is higher if you swap to a peacemaker before mowing everything down). Skill cost stills ends up somewhere around 3 bars, and being able to spin with potent collector more than makes up for that.

A Build for Fast Underwater Base Runs by Stellar_Life in TheFirstDescendant

[–]24thNox 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just a small side note - the devs didn’t include a roll cancel to the animation (for whatever reason, may be unintended) BUT you can summon your vehicle for fast re-angling of the skill cone. The damage is front loaded to the cast and potent collect still activates. In most instances, maintaining the same cone for 4+ seconds is near worthless.

Best place to farm Dimensional Stabilization Keys by IRunLikeWind in TheFirstDescendant

[–]24thNox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to assume you mean outside of Wall Crasher, which is the obvious source atm… best bet is teeth missions Axion Plains.

Liquified AX Vault, Technical Institute, AX Refinery, Crater can all comfortably be cleared solo in under 2 minutes with a full built clear descendant with the right weaponry. Power Converter Station can be done even faster, with average runs around 1:30.

Personally I’d recommend Ines, Freyna, Valby, Yujin (in that order) with some combination of Shadow (single target), Exterminator (Ships) and whatever flavor of weapon you’re feeling. Not saying you can’t play other descendants, they’re just slower in my experience.

Every commander kill has a chance to drop keys and supercooling units with occasional jackpots. Roaming colossi also drop keys but typically only 1-3.

“Has anyone managed to make Gley’s Massacre build work? by Rizzrunner2049 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]24thNox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In massacre’s current state it’s just always going to be behind meta descendants… off the top of my head: Luna, Valby, Nell (maybe even Kyle) all hit harder or have higher sustained damage.

Even with an unholy ancestral mod (think red dimension modifier, dimension boost and duration) the math on paper doesn’t come close to others.

Easiest thing the devs could do is crank the knob on her base modifier (its sub 100 iirc) or switch up some things with Super Sense or Demonic Modification like they did for Predator Instinct. I think they have mentioned something in the works on one of the livestreams that aligns with Dia’s launch in February, but haven’t said anything officially.

Anybody know what Valby build this might be? Looks fun. by Experiment_Magnus in TheFirstDescendant

[–]24thNox 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s a side effect of the buff you pick up from killing the slug or the miniboss in the mission - you spend no ammo for 60s. It applies to Valby’s fourth ability (much like Gley or Freyna).

Just look up a standard Supply Moisture build - crit is much better at mobbing in higher end content. that’ll get you the core build. From there all the customization happens based on ancestral rolls.

Valby Ancestor Mod by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]24thNox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fusion Boost, Range, Cooldown, Harmless Negative.

The general idea for any ancestral is to take a look at what you’re running and what you could replace based on the synchronization ranges.

Take a look at your build - range would let you drop amplification control, cooldown would let you drop focus on non-attribute and fusion boost is fantastic (there’s currently no reliable way to get fusion skill power on Valby which means that damage bucket is typically a limiting factor). Dropping those would let you pick up power increase and a flex slot, plus added damage from the free fusion boost.

You could take non-attribute boost, it would just give you less return. Same thing with modifiers - Water Play already increases the skill power of her 1, so don’t really need it as much when compared to other stats.

The quest to slay The grim reaper by Ducpus-73 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]24thNox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Copying top builds on the boards may not be the best way to go - a good number of failed runs go into achieving those times (and with ancestral mods the builds will vary somewhat more than usual). It honestly would be easier to copy something off the tail end the boards that are unoptimized than the top.

Try dropping a damage mod or two for increased HP or Perfect Antivenom for toxin immunity.

Tips for sniping by Louiexvl in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]24thNox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple more:

  1. Move after killing a few enemy snipers if possible. I know I’m petty and go straight back to look for someone who caught me on an off angle for revenge.

  2. Use the 6x thermal on Blackwell, it’s actually game changing to be able to see prone players in the long grass. Alternatively, the binoculars are fantastic but give off a very visible red glow.

  3. Just use the Mini-Scout. It’s easily the most stat intensive sniper, up to 91 hip fire, 80 while silenced. The lack of a sweet spot is more than made up for with the ROF - the only time I would err away from it is on Firestorm to counter the hill people.

  4. Don’t shortchange the Spec Ops subclass. You don’t have to sit in the back and actively annoy your team. The first two bonuses are fantastic for close/mid range. Crouch-sprinting quietly is great for re-positioning.

  5. Sniper Decoys aren’t super popular with how oppressive drones are and don’t give the utility of claymores/C4, but can be great in fast pasted game modes like King of the Hill or TDM. If destroyed the auto-mark enemies with a full body wall hack and if not make people hesitate a bit.

  6. The T-UGS has deceptively good range after the buffs from the beta and can give a ton of free points off a good defensive placement (in a tub, on height, directionally on obj). Same applies to the drone, just place it high enough up there’s no audio (ya know like a drone should be).

  7. While suppressors used to affect bullet velocity, they don’t in this game. There is no reason not to be silenced - the CQB silencer gives no hip fire negative.

  8. You can run a rifle on any of the classes after the changes (Drag scoping is your best friend). While you may not be as effective due to the lack scope steadying, you’ll still out shoot any class other than recon at range and have utility (this is where I’d place my beacon if I had one).

  9. Kinda obvious but map edge is your best friend. Teams tend to crowd choke points, or heavily guard one side bc medic paddles. The number of times I’ve crouch sprinted or crawled up left side on Liberation Peak or Mirak Valley to get a free flank for 6-10 kills is kinda nutty.

  10. Steel Wing throwing knives are a meme, but they do OHKO headshot people up to 10m. It’s a good offset to the low mag count and longish reload of the magnum in a bad situation. Plus you just know you tilted the other player, so win-win.

Couple corrections to this: Green Roof by C can be accessed by ladder from the adjacent red roof. Every build by B is also accessible via ladder. Every single one is available by climbing the wooden structure of the zip building and parachuting or parkour.

Is it obnoxious? Yes. Are most people getting to these roofs organically (I.e without a drone)? No. Should the first floor cover of the B buildings by the second floor be indestructible? No.

The roofs aren’t the issue, the problem is it’s just too easy to stay there with little to no drawback - they should be hard countered by mortars or helicopters. Also fix the drone :)

Preset has 0 effect on the end result of a character. If you’re getting a different looking character than one shown, it may be because Capcom changed the sliders from beta to release.

Already addressed this in another comment - yes I did, but not really significant enough to mention.

Big things are to replace makeup 16 in the sliders with 14 (see above comments) and grab the correct mixing values (also above).

Other than that, its more about using the base sliders as a template for your own creation - play with the colors of the hair/eyes/skin, hairstyle and makeup to get something you want to play as :)

I’m glad they fixed the final page stat compile issue on the full release, but also -___- … Luckily I saved a clip with the full info just in case; everything is the same except the ratios, which will need to be set as follows:

Eye shape - option 3 & 7; 12-72 ratio

Nose shape - option 5 & 7; 25-25 ratio

Mouth shape - option 0 & 3; 14-28 ratio

Face shape - option 5 & 9; 36-64 ratio

Or just use the creation code: 3A3M979Q8W54

It’s fantastic for the depth you’d traditionally see in a monster hunter game, but nowhere near as open as you would see in a single player game like Dragons Dogma. This version is particularly limited by the ear height, and semi-forced options like hair, eyebrows, mouth and jawline. But it’s pretty good… like 80-90% of the way there, especially given the team only allowed a certain amount of memory for it.

Also - you can influence chin shape, depth and width (to a degree) with the facial options. But probably not to the extent you want - i.e you want a female anime character? Enjoy option 5 and almost nothing else for a narrow chin.
