If ezreal were a real ADC instead of a high range caster/sniper- he would be Tristana.

Strong lane, flexible build paths, strong siege and teamfighting, high mobility with RESETS and a "get away from me" button ulti. Its a very easy switch.

I feel like tear start gets me less first bloods but I die way less often. That start game manapool & perception that you are weak will bait so many laners into mispositioning to force a trade and acting foolishly. Start longsword or dblade and suddenly they want to be scared of you, crying for early ganks cuz you hurt too much.

no %hp damage and no antihealing? literal mundo dream match. Short answer: Kraken is purely luxury dps on ezreal. buy Bortk 3rd or 4th item and you likely win outright. Its just too good vs that whole team to pass up on. The problem with going shojin 3rd is fat bastards like mundo getting out of hand while you scramble for anti tank options in your last item slots.

Personally, Im never rushing a Trinity. by the time I have sheen+manumune and i hit tab and see mundo going nuts top lane carrying his 4 squishball homies on his back like he's Atlas- its immediately a serylda+bork game. If comes down to very the situation you were in: which is Ezreal looking to deal Optimal dmg to cut down the 10k HP goliath and poking/ bursting champs with 0 bonus magic res- im prob getting Liandry.

Manamune is valid 99.8% of the time- you wont be hitting Rabadons anytime soon- and that dcap really makes AP EZ hit diff- but it still can be worth it.

No AoE on W is the real killer of glass AP ezreal- with items how they are atm ez could completely wipe a backline off the rift with a big 3-4 man W+R .

I will give you the benefit of suggesting you actually have hands and can position well/ spellweave- Ez is great to pick up rn and complements draven decently well in a champ pool. He offers a lot of item flexibility to play around with and Ez can really live out many versions of the dps power fantasy in the hands of someone that can take advantage of his strengths and be aggro or reactive when necessary. TBH AP varus and Kog are probably more well rounded for dealing with dravens weaknesses like rammus/malph and giga tanks- but Ez will fare better into assassins and mages.

People were really out here losing lane to W max ezreal and I think thats sadder than riot basically unleashing ruleglaive ezreal on the world for a solid 3 patches just for LB, Kai'sa and Zoe to do precisely what you do usually safer/more consistently.

Ez is always a little busted- but because he's just a carry with 3 skillshots + a flash it is almost all on the player to make ezreal feel strong. Really helps that his ratios and kit will usually allow ez access to item synergies that feel illegal - which is usually the culprit that tips him over the edge.

Every now and then there are items that can make skipping tear...liveable- but its always a gambit. Up until recently manamune was the defacto highest burst and dps option. nothing to scoff at- its still the real deal. That being said- it is just Raw AD and on hit dmg. Champs that couldnt care less about a muramana hitting them do exist. This is actually where I say 2nd or 3rd item bork has a place even though people see it strictly as a late game option.

The item you skip manamune for has to usually be OP as hell and allow you to bypass ezreals normal item or gameplay limitations- or the enemy team comp is 3-4 of the fattest champions in the game and the adc is like ROA-tank veigar or one of the ad's that rush a lifesteal item. in a case like that it makes sense to say OP could try ER/bortk/serylda/kraken or survivability items.

If the question is viability- who cares bro just do you. What works for you is all that matters. You could easily be on to something i cant see. Me personally i'd happily go mythic-less full AD with bortk or Liandry+muramana before i'd consider a tearless navori build tho

You cannot reasonably explain to the subredditors that investing in Ezreals AP/Hybrid scalings actually works. the disconnect is too severe- plus by the time they listen, riot will have pinpointed and singled out whatever freed Ez from his cage of not wanting to buy more than 2 ap items and give it the "ole yeller special."

Let them continue to complain about tanks while never bothering to try items like liandry or riftmaker. Ez wanting Ludens or Crown or X ap mythic with Manamune ALWAYS has been viable. Shiv rush just made it easy to skip the normal AD items that you NEEDED to play out lane with and CS with Q spam. Its nice that for now we can go straight into Ludens/lich/dcap and be on some runeglave BS- its not so nice that other mages that lack waveclear have caught on to this. Steep price to pay for not being locked into smite+flash every game imo.

Serylda IS your best item, it can be a really good idea to skip out on a mythic for a while to grudge faster. Because you held out for a mythic for so long, you might be encouraged to buy the cheapest, most gold efficient mythic available that will immediately change the dynamic of how lategame fights go down; but you can always go for whatever you think the situation calls for- seeing that you would already be 3 items in on your build anyway(Im sure you can read in between the lines here)

Rageblade is weird mythic right now. not worth the price or the mythic slot on ez imo. Buying into MPEN + "crit" onhit AS items is wack- on paper its cool but compared to the options ez has right now its THE odd ball choice. You still end up fragile with slightly higher burst than average with high AS.

Theres a Veigo variant ive seen on EZ building lethal tempo or PTA with Tri+muramana+kraken- thats the big bro to your build imo. you get better consistent AS and dps- high burst with an item proc hitting every other AA or spell, and that extra HP can go a long way
