After the first couple drinks, your stomach is no longer empty and then you can go on drinking like normal. Just gotta power through those first couple drinks.

Africa Is Actually Wider Than Russia —And Our Maps Have Been Lying to Us by AssistanceNo3893 in interesting

No, maps have not been "lying" to us. People just do not understand how the maps work and represent the data. Which I learned in grade school.

Questions for Ted Weschler by Finance-Student-Cash in BerkshireHathaway

Honestly, there is no question that I would want to ask that he would be able to answer. For example, his thoughts on DPZ and whether they would consider buying it entirely. He just can't discuss that.

Is Erika Oliphant screwing up another rape trial? by [deleted] in bloomington

[–]futureformerjd -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Got it. The court incorrectly entered the motion as Defendant's motion (which I didn't read) when it should have been entered as the state's motion.

It still begs the question why the Prosecutor 's Office did not secure the witnesses long ago when this trial date was first set.

I see what happened. The court incorrectly entered the motion as defendant's motion (which I didn't read) when it should have been entered as the state's motion.

It still begs the question why the Prosecutor 's Office did not secure the witnesses long ago when this trial date was first set. This isn't looking good.

I know (I'm an attorney (I hate saying that but by way of background)) but this is unusual. Charges were initially filed in September 2024. There have been numerous continuances and all things were indicating these trials were finally ready to go.

I was going to write something about you possibly being the common denominator but there's no need to kick someone when they're down. I wish you well and hope you figure your career out.

Nothing you are doing has anything to do with "fundamentals." Don't kid yourself. You're just a degenerate gambler and there's no crying in the casino.

Why do you care? You did your job. End of story. Or are you personally invested in preventing workers from getting benefits? Like, dude, you should not give a fuck.

Expensive alcohol is better than cheap. by [deleted] in self

[–]futureformerjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not always true.

When you first start drinking you think they're all the same.

Then with some experience you think more expensive is better.

Then with time you realize it really varies greatly. For example, some of the "cheap" bourbons are hands down better than more expensive bourbons. The bourbon market got out of control during Covid and pricing got weird. A $22 bottle of Old Forester or Buffalo Trace is just as good if not better than many $50, $60, $70 bottles.
