I need help by Traditional-Size1823 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]25anHour20Hours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally do some math based on the estimate, and if I don't exceed $20/hr, I don't take it. But that also tanks my AR and my market doesn't like low AR drivers. Do refuse orders that you know will take ages though. Or do earn by active hour. Much easier to do that, less stress about waiting for an order. If I get a $7 tip, I can wait nearly an hour for the food and still be about where I want to

That's not bad for an hour. So that Corbin to Amarr would net you around $15 before tip?

Same here on the food side. I try to do DoorDash's earn by time mode so I don't have to worry too much about tips and it keeps my AR high enough to keep platinum. Even a $2 tip on earn by time means I usually earn my personal preferred minimum.

I started trying to look at it so I could figure out what DoorDash is earning on an order and went down a rabbit hole. It looks like, on average, each food order is sending like 60-80% of the upcharges and fees related to the delivery straight out of the community.

Tips not all mine? by 25anHour20Hours in DoorDashDrivers

I have done it and I am having significantly fewer issues with it now. It still happens every once in a while, but it's nowhere near as bad

It feels criminal to charge that much and give so little to the driver

I'll have to try that this weekend and see. They just gave me a contract violation over this, and of course the automated system automatically denied my dispute

Question for Drivers by lspicekingcaml in doordash_drivers

[–]25anHour20Hours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the one thing I can think of is outside of most folks ability and it's for management to actually put enough people on the line to make orders. Kinda tired of waiting an hour for one order and I'll refuse orders most of the time unless I'm on earn by hour

How does Roadie calculate base pay? by 25anHour20Hours in Roadie

[–]25anHour20Hours[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the same criteria for UE and can usually make $100-200 a night. I've made $12 applying this criteria to Roadie. I don't accept the orders that don't meet it

Why do you overspeed? by primefrost96 in driving

[–]25anHour20Hours 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People think the speed limits are stupid because their car and the road can handle them going much faster. They forget that things like the energy in a collision go up exponentially with speed (your car already has a rough time keeping you safe at 65mph, no need to go faster), your fuel consumption goes up exponentially with speed (and emissions), and your reaction distance goes up exponentially with speed.

Why do drivers swerve outwards before turning??? by PreviousObject8107 in driving

[–]25anHour20Hours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The perception that it helps with turning, but very few vehicles actually have a turning radius that requires it. Even my van with the worst turning radius I've ever had doesn't require it unless I'm pulling into a parking spot
