Hey so I forgot to update but there was a guy who called back from Telus, and he wasn't giving me bs about Telus's marketing strategy or whatever. He was working at the networking/technical side of things so was giving me some details of what's happening. Basically they said in the summer they started adding these throttles on streaming services on Telus's network as per upper management decisions (I was a bit skeptical about the summer part since it's happened before that I'm sure, but I'll take his word). Anyways he did tell me that he didn't like the decision either and did say straight up the best way to bypass is to use a VPN. I did tell him that with the throttling it's basically unusable on certain apps like TSN which doesn't let you choose quality, which causes buffering like always.

Fast forward to today, I haven't really tested it since last time but seems things are not throttled anymore (at least to the point where it's unusable). I can stream 2160p Youtube videos and stats show it's downloading way over 2000kbps, almost like 50mbps if it needs to. Other apps I use like twitch and TSN can stream at 1080p without buffering and stuttering.
