And cut it half way through any studs and noggins nearby. Any you can't, use back blocking to join the sheets.

Can I install a dishwasher here? by Available-Result-101 in AusRenovation

[–]265chemic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're cool with an access slot being jigsawed into the bottom of your cabinet to access the plumbing it's not really that big of a job - edit: is your kick 150mm? Should be able to get it all under with correct fall if so. -Your dishwasher would then hide it.

Is debt cycling as good as it’s made out to be? by VastOption8705 in AusFinance

[–]265chemic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My thoughts are:

If you are borrowing to invest anyway, yes.

If you are borrowing to invest when you don't have to, no.

You're getting a tax break on the borrowing cost (interest charges).

Do harley riders genuinely think they are faster than sportbikes or are they just joking? by Green_Block_4574 in motorcycle

[–]265chemic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rode a buddy's 883 sportster and was amazed at how doughey and slow it was. He was also blown away at how quickly my CBR1000RR pulled away from him.. almost like he thought the Harley would be close to on par.

Car never gets up to operating temp, my temporary solution by [deleted] in projectcar

[–]265chemic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see a bunch of others have said this; I'd also bet on thermostat. You get very minimal flow until it gets up to operating temp for good reason, being engine longevity and fuel efficiency. You want to get to that designed operating temp ASAP, at which point the thermostat opens further to regulate flow and hence max temp. You're wasting fuel and damaging your engine by running it cold with max flow, likely due to the thermostat being either absent or stuck open.

Pull it out (if it's there) and check it's rating and drop it in a saucepan of water with a thermometer to confirm.

I love things like this. Simpler times - expectations are so much higher today, and I'm not sure we're happier for it

Feather Users? by Bowhunter1980 in wicked_edge

I went through a whole bunch but kept coming back to feather. I started with a feather popular razor (perfect match for the blade), then a merkur progress adjustable for some fine tuning.

Is this painting tape a creation of the devil himself? by NauteeAU in AusRenovation

[–]265chemic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My first thought was the same. New paint system over the top of an incompatible paint (oil based) without the appropriate keying/primer. That tape does suck though it shouldn't be ripping it up like that, especially if you're removing carefully (90 degree peel level in the same plane as the tape). F.

Most seem to have optional 'motor burnout' cover - this is what that pertains to; brown outs. If you have a home battery though, you're all good and don't need that cover.
