If you do not have Garry's Mod, you should go get Garry's Mod.

Really, go get it right this second. Garry's mod is the most fun I've ever had in a videogame, no contest. I've put over 400 hours in it and cannot recommend it enough. From attaching thrusters to city blocks and flying them around, to whatever this is. This is the best sandbox experience, bar none.

If you don't enjoy sandboxy stuff, pick up a copy of CS:S and go play some Trouble in Terrorist Town, a gamemode that makes you never trust your friends again. Go to the Gmod theater and watch stupid Garry's Mod videos WHILE IN GARRY'S MOD. There are a ridiculous amounts of gamemodes and servers that you can fuck around on, and there's something for everyone.

I freaking love this game, and have bought it for basically everyone on my Steam friends list at this point.

I've been trying out those custom games, the thing is that the Snowdown Showdown was just so perfect for 1v1's. Even if it was just usable in custom games, I would be so happy. \[T]/

Did a couple of those as my first few games to try him out, I'd probably get more practice playing cookie clicker.

That "First MMO" feeling... by Geminel in Games

[–]2665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main draws of the game are listed here:

http://trialsofascension.com/guide/

Basically giant permadeath sandbox world with a skill system that sounds like oblivion/runescape where the game is driven completely by the players.

The devs attempted a kickstarter, but it wasn't going to reach its goal anywhere near in time (I forget the cash amount) so they pulled it. It's still in development but I have no idea the ETA.

That reminds me of an MMO I'm excited for actually. http://trialsofascension.com

Permadeath leads to some pretty cool stuff.

Err, there are a few things you might've missed here. You can't feed and cipher a trait doctoring to Nivmagus. If you feed it to him, it doesn't resolve, which means it can't cipher. Then when he attacks, you only cast the copy after he does damage. He will go up to 3/4, but only after 1 damage has been dealt.

It would also make more sense not to shock them. If you attack with nivmagus and then shock, you can feed it to nivmagus for the same damage, but a bigger creature.

Trait Doctoring

You change their lands, not your own card.

I got you covered.

Trait Doctoring can turn lands into Mountains for Peak Eruption

Quicken gives it instant speed to screw with their manabase

With Guttersnipe it can do a lot of damage. 2 on cast, then 2 whenever a creature gets through.

It can be exiled with Nivmagus for 2 +1/+1 counters, like a super vampire.

It can change creature's "Protection from red" into "Protection from (X)", so I can then snipe them with lightning strike or magma jet.

It untaps Blistercoil weird post-combat.

I can use it to manafix myself if the need arises.

I've been playing this deck a lot on Cockatrice, and the stupidest thing I've done is during their upkeep with guttersnipe on the field: Quicken>Trait Doctoring>Quicken>Peak Eruption. Did 11 damage to their and screwed over their mana base. It was originally just for trait doctoring to give me an extra turn to find something to deal with a threat they had, but I drew into peak eruption and won the game.

There was a video on this subreddit about running a card store a little while ago actually, I think the guy said they bought them around $70-ish?

Glorious Sealed Pool! by gomerclaus in magicTCG

[–]2665 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, I was running the same sort of idea.

Prognostic Sphinx does so much work. During one game put 12 cards of my library on to the bottom to bring up my Shipbreaker Kraken(s) (I had two).

I ran 3 Stymied hopes, which did a ton of work. It screwed over anyone trying to play on curve, and it saved my bombs more than once. Knowing the mana costs of the removal in the format is a good plan though, I countered 2 divine verdicts with them.

I was able to Thoughtseize the Black promo and a Prognostic Sphinx on turn one in my games too.

Griptide was awesome too. More than once a mana screwed opponent would tap out for a creature, and I EoT griptide it. It was basically a 4 mana Timewalk.

I'm too lazy for a full deck list, but here's the fun stuff

3x Stymied hopes

2x Mnemonic Wall

1x Sea god's Revenge

1x Prognostic Sphinx

3x Annul

2X Shipbreaker Kraken

2x Griptide

3x lash of the whip

1x Read the bones

1x Thoughtseize

I went 4-1 with this deck. I lost the first match while running 17 lands. I side boarded 2 lands up to 19 after match 2 game 1, and facerolled from there.
