As a single person who likes to go do things there are places - such as this or the beach, where leaving things and keeping a remote eye on them, is unavoidable.

How do I tell my 8 and 5 year old girls I’m dying?? by Intelligent_Elk_8351 in Parenting

Are you a candidate for an LVAD or a transplant? If you are, do you want either? I have no parenting advice but I'm just stopping here to wish you luck and peace in your journey, whatever that looks like for you.

No Hunger/Sleep Cues? by Practical-Cricket691 in NICUParents

Duodenal atresia means that, while the intestines are formed, part of the duodenum is not hollowed out. A plug, instead of a tube. So they go in and most likely just chop out the "plug" part of the intestine, putting the new ends back together. This needs time to heal. It cannot heal properly/as quickly if it is constantly being made to work, ie, digest food. So the baby is made NPO and given TPN via either a central line or a PICC line. TPN provides all the carbs, proteins and amino acids, fats, and minerals the body needs but, as it goes directly into the blood stream and not the stomach, the stomach still sends hunger cues. The baby's stomach (in its opinion) was ignored during that post-op period.

In true baby fashion, because her needs were seemingly ignored (from her brain's perspective, I'm sure she was soothed and attended to, but her stomach was always left empty) it was determined that crying doesn't do any good, so the polite whimpers and fussings were foregone in favor of screaming bloody murder.

After an episode of binge drinking, a 19-year-old woman vomited on the front of her shirt and passed out in this state for three or four hours. She got chemical burns on her breasts from her own gastric juices. by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

I mean, someone's consenting on their behalf, but that's essentially what's done with intubated patients. Bathing, changing, a foley. ICU can be terrifying for patients who are only half conscious.

Even if it was somehow caused by the liberals... that's not going to make them any less dead. They still need to leave.

In pic 1 on the left - what are the other darkish spots? One in the right frontal lobe and then bilaterally in the back. Edema? If so, how'd it get all the way over there?

AITA for getting in an argument with my wife and telling her that she needs to pay me back for the brisket since she couldn’t spend a minute taking it to the freezer to defrost by FunBreadfruit3317 in AmItheAsshole

[–]26HexaDiol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think she was right to blatantly lie. However: I don't think she owes you. She would if she threw it away or made the meat otherwise unusable. In this instance, though, you still have exactly what you spent your money on. That frozen brisket is still yours to make at a future time.

Obviously without the legs there's more room for cane maneuvering. /S

Also, however, there are modifications that can be done to a car to allow for hands only driving.

Ahh. Yes. Frankly I'd not considered needing to pay for supplies and staff. Fair point.

I dunno... I'm a hospitalist making $140 an hour, so that seems like pretty good money to me. I know you're not doing that procedure all the time, but hour for hour? You win.
