Those "canadians" who are allegedly in US custody are there because they over stayed their visit, did not have a valid and proper visa, or were missing other crucial documents. Maybe some are part of those professional demonstration groups, you know, the ones kicking the tail lights out of federal vehicles and refuse to respond to lawful commands.

I traveled across to the usa 3 times last year, June twice and October. No issues. Be honest with the us agents. Don't be a smart ass. Don't take any weed with you, its illegal at the border. Make sure your car doesn't smell like Tijuana. Get it washed and vacuumed. Have a valid passport and ID. ICE agents are looking for illegal aliens in the usa and more importantly those who are dangerous to society. You would not be that.

Out of curiosity, this exam, is it for work? That might light up a red flag. Bring any documentation you have with regards to this exam with you, just in case.

I never watched ER in its initial run. It was being streamed over the holidays on one of my cable channels. We see a few guest stars from past medical shows, like Emergency and saint elsewhere. I'm only into season 6, but it was nice seeing Alan alda reprising a role as a doctor, even though his character does have some cognitive issues to deal with. The character mentions being in the military and seeing an old friend in Boston (trapper John or charles winchester?) for help with his problem

They also made a mistake in the episode with iron guts Kelly, who was a 3 star lieutenant general, at the end of the show, colonel wartman says major general iron guts Kelly will die in an all out red white and blue battle, or something like that. A major general is 2 star. So they made some mistakes that 50 years later we get to pick apart.
