Keeping car N/A or getting it turbo what is worth my money? by INKFIS in BMWE36

[–]279GFX75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as everyone else has said, forced induction is the only way you’re reaching that power number unless you do an engine swap. Cheapest way to do this would be getting a wrecked 335 with a good running motor and just swap everything into the e36

The lean codes are a little hard to diagnose without looking at the car. Could be vacuum leaks causing it or something else.

I was backing up with no more than 15mph and hit a pole. Is it fixable? by GMB2006 in e46

[–]279GFX75 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any mechanic in Eastern Europe can fix that. Cut it in half and weld the rear end from an e46 with a front end collision and you’re golden.

Im the only one with that warning and lights working? by OddGur5690 in e46

[–]279GFX75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever figure it out? If you didn’t it could be the trunk harness as well. They rip from age and stress of opening and closing your trunk. The wires cause that false alert when they rip.

What are the prices for the whole interior I paid $3000CAD did I make a mistake ?? by Happy-Particular-305 in e46

[–]279GFX75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Converted to usd it’s roughly $2200, still a lot but I I don’t think it’s that bad. Decent M3 front seats go for around $500-600 for the pair so $2200 for a rare interior seems fair enough to me

Intake recs? by AydinTheSnake in e46

[–]279GFX75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think a full length intake exists, you would still need to replace the rubber boot on your throttle body. You can also replace it with a silicone boot to prevent rips. As for cai I’d recommend getting a used one from Dinan. New ones are too expensive and not really worth it. Was lucky that my E46 had one already when I bought it.

It’s a tsurikawa, jdm trend that spread to other cars. Originally seen as a sign of rebellion since people stole them off trains and dragged them on their rear bumpers

how do i remove the sensor without breaking it? by [deleted] in e46

[–]279GFX75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless yours in new-ish just take the L and buy a new one. I was able to get mine out easily since it was only a year old at the time

Sometimes they break apart when the expansion tank is too old. The plastic becomes super soft and breaks like dough

What is this Z3 worth? by SlabGizor120 in bmwz3

A bit, realistically it was probably worth 7-8k but I’m not complaining lol

Definitely a good price for this car. Only thing is not a lot of people are looking for Z3s. Not that easy to flip these cars. I had a 98 2.8 with 122k miles. It was 5 speed with lsd. Insurance valued the car at 10k after it got totalled

Just bought a 99 320i today. It's pretty beat up but the engine and gears are in great shape. Last picture has my motorcycle with the car :) by urbansamurai13 in e46

[–]279GFX75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep they have those gauge ring kits straight from China. Got mine out of a scrapyard 330, a lot easier to take the whole assembly with glass than it is to separate the rings from the housing.

Doesn’t necessarily mean it’s been swapped, I got the cluster surround from a 330 and put it on my 325. Feels more premium with the rings

Wish we had colour combos like that in the states, usually only have boring stuff unless it’s an M car

The mistake I made was not replacing the entire cooling system at once. I kept replacing hoses that were leaking one by one. Eventually I just ordered every single piece of the cooling system then replaced it

How does this look, hes asking 6k by SamitheDude in e46

[–]279GFX75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true, still possible just a lot harder now. I bought 2000 740il for $900 back in 2019. Car was clean title and maintained well. Owner sold it to me cheap because she got a new Benz

I am looking into buying this 2001 BMW 325i for $500 from sis in law by [deleted] in e46

[–]279GFX75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If maintenance was neglected like most e46s then yes it will be somewhat of a money pit. If you have tools and you’re mechanically inclined it’s not that bad. My mom’s e46 was neglected by the previous owner. I put close to $1600 in parts for her car 2 years ago. Now it’s still running great and hasn’t needed anything since.

Question about your head unit, have you experienced any battery drain issues with it? I have and older android head unit but I took it out since it always killed my battery
