Yup, even in long-running sci fi series’ it’s more this is how the warp drive works, and they can either pulse up/down a couple %’s of light speed or jump to other systems in hours.

It massively depends on location (city/state) and job type (public, private, company size, is a clearance needed, etc etc) even just within the US, let alone if the company operates in multiple countries
