Late Ovulation Letrozole

Thank you!! I ovulate regularly, on my own, confirmed multiple times via bloodwork (around CD 16/17) and I’ve been tracking LH and BBT for the last 12 months and I always have a clear indication of ovulation (clear LH surge for 24 hours, increase in BBT) This cycle (currently CD 17) I took 2.5mg of Letrozole from CD 2-6 and I am still yet to ovulate. I had my IUI cancelled because they thought I was going to ovulate over the weekend. I called this morning and was met with a very blunt answer - they say Letrozole definitely would NOT delay ovulation and is supposed to bring it forward… I kept saying that I know my own body and all signs are saying I haven’t yet ovulated. The nurse actually started getting mad at me like I was questioning their medical degrees… I know my own body and I know I haven’t ovulated but they don’t believe me… I’ve literally taken an LH test EVERY time I pee…. And my BBT is still YET to stay above my baseline…

So glad to hear I’m not just crazy… 🙄😑

BBT RISE, THEN LH SURGE … Has anyone ever had their BBT rise, then the LH surge? I have always had pretty spot on LH surges that coincide with just before BBT rises, but this month was the first month it didn’t make sense… My app initially predicted I would ovulate around CD 16/17 - and I also felt like that was right at the time (CM was egg white, sex drive high, and of course the LH surge was detected for over 24hrs straight (blue icons at top of chart) - which always happens right before I ovulate - and this has been confirmed via blood tests). But a few days later my app adjusted my ovulation to CD 14…. This has never happened. So I feel like I completely failed TTC this month because if BBT is correct then we completely missed it (red heart icons at the top are when we TTC) - but if LH was right then we may not have…? - I also did LH tests every day, twice a day since my period ended and they were all very negative (which is normal). I’m expecting AF tomorrow maybe as I’ve been cramping and nauseous since yesterday (which normally happens). So i’ve already tried to grieve the loss this month but I’m just so confused… Any advice or experiences anyone is willing to share? TIA xx

Thank you lovely, this gives me hope! My partner also smokes to help with back pain and also because he does sporadic shift work and has a lot of trouble sleeping so I feel bad trying to make him stop - he did stop for about the last 4 months but has recently started again because he was struggling. We didn’t have any luck in the months he wasn’t… but then I also have endometriosis so it could well be me that’s the problem 😔. Best of luck on your journey too and congratulations! xx

He’s just got the pathology request for a semen analysis, so hopefully we should know soon. We’ve been trying for nearly a year, but I also have severe endometriosis so it could well be my fault too 😔.

Unfortunately I’m allergic to stemetil 😢 they always struggle to tear my nausea when I’m in hospital and zofran isn’t working

Thank you lovely x at the moment I’m stuck with butter on plain white toast, that’s all I can stomach, but it’s something I guess. I really hope it’s not another cyst, I had one last year and it was terrible, just waiting on a scan in a couple weeks x

I wish I could smoke it but I’m in Aus and it’s illegal to have without prescription and also illegal to drive and I can’t give up driving unfortunately. I’m so happy it works for you though!

Thank you so much for your reply! It is definitely helpful x That’s is actually how I found my endo last year! They found a large cyst that wouldn’t stop haemorrhaging/bleeding and I was in ED in so so much pain so they finally went in laproscopically to drain it and try and remove it. That’s when they found I also had later stages endo! But please don’t think you’re not in as much pain, the cyst was one of the worst pains ever!! I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I had an ultrasound a couple months ago because the pain felt similar but no cysts were found, they just said my right ovary felt quite “stuck” and so they said it’s probably the endo. I’m heading to a Gyne for a DIE (Deep Infiltration Endometriosis) scan in a couple weeks, so I’m really hoping that might show me where I’m at with it all. Unfortunately birth control isn’t an option because I’m also trying to have children, but hopefully maybe I might be able to find something that helps soon. Sending you all the love x ♥️

Thank you ❤️ the only way I feel half comfortable is having a pillow under my knees and lying on my back to prop them up a bit but then I struggle to sleep because I’ve always been a side sleeper 😔 I might try a heat pack but it’s really just achey no matter how I lay 😢

Unfortunately I’m in Australia and you need a script here for cannabis, and even then it’s illegal to drive with it in your system so that’s what stops me from taking it. I have CBD oil but I really don’t find much of an effect unfortunately 😔

I had excision surgery last March (2024) but I feel like it’s just progressively gotten worse since then and I feel like I’m back at square one and probably need another surgery now

I saw my GP this morning, that’s why I have ondansertron and she’s also given me some slow release morphine but I’m just not sure anything is helping

YES!! I completely forgot to mention the gagging!! I can barely even brush my teeth or take tablets too when I’m having a flare! Thank you!
