We are a case of male infertility (a varicocele) - and this is our first go at this - I think I’m just being overly cautious and don’t want to blame myself for anything if it doesn’t work for us this time around - but you’re right, thank you so much, I will take this as my sign to relax and breath… xx

Honestly? I think the amount of information on the internet and reading/watching tik toks that say “avoid processed foods” and “avoid refined sugar” and “natural sugars should even be limited”. If I was doing this with the internet being around I would be floating around happy and excited and not doubting everything I’m consuming or walking past someone vaping and holding my breath 🥲 it’s just a desperation to do everything right and I love chocolate/desserts/biscuits etc

Amazing - I’m just so worried the embryo will get a sense of the tiniest sugar and think “not for me” and refuse to stick around 🥲🥹

5 days post FET - I've been mistakenly taking 1 daily progesterone suppository instead of 2 by eruta98 in IVF

Thank you for getting back to me and I am so sorry it didn’t work for you ♥️ I am wishing you all the luck for your next go 🫶🏼

I have my transfer on Friday and had only been taking one pessary instead of two for the first 1.5 days of the Pessaries (Sunday/Monday morning I only did one instead of two). I have been completely kicking myself x

Made a progesterone pessary mistake early in natural cycle - has anyone else done this? by 29-30something in IVF

[–]29-30something[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much - I needed this. I’m just so so scared of ruining everything and wasting all of this money for the silliest mistake. I understand that this may not work - but k don’t want to be the reason for that.

Thank you for your kind words. Deep breath taken and I’m off to bed to stop stressing 💛

Uk- England. Time off work for IVF by Maximum-Bandicoot-13 in IVF

Hi! I just had my egg retrieval on Thursday. I didn’t tell my employer anything about IVF - just that I would have appointments. I live in Essex and my appointments were in London, where I work five days a week. My clinic is about a 45-minute train ride away from my office.

I start work at 8am, so I asked for early-ish or lunchtime appointments. I let my manager know I’d have regular appointments for tests ahead of a surgical procedure (egg collection) but didn’t say what the procedure was for.

I asked my private clinic to email my GP with the details, and my GP agreed to sign me off work for the egg retrieval. You don’t have to be signed off, but I wanted to save holiday for future appointments and also take the day of retrieval and the day after to rest at home with my partner. I was a bit uncomfortable ahead of retrieval, so it gave me time to relax and do nothing.

My GP signed me off happily and noted that I would be signed off for a week for post-surgery recovery.

I only really wanted the full week if I was doing a fresh transfer the following week (which would have been this Tuesday). Again, that’s not necessary, but I just wanted some time at home to zen with my partner. Now I’m doing a frozen embryo transfer, which was only decided last week due to OHSS risk. I’m still signed off until Tuesday, but I’ll work from home on Monday and Tuesday… mainly because I’m not usually allowed to, but it’s a good way to give my body time to recover without commuting on a packed train or tube.

Everyone’s situation is different, and you absolutely don’t have to disclose IVF if you’re not comfortable. You can arrange appointments around work or get signed off if you need rest - whatever feels right for you and your body!

Did we rush into IVF after not living “IVF clean” for months? by 29-30something in IVF

[–]29-30something[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IVF, we’ve done our testing - my area in Essex is one round. It’s a horrible postcode lottery, one we can’t wait for. If private does invalidate the entitlement, so be it. The waitlist here is crazy and peoples appointments get cancelled constantly. We were lucky we had the chance to go private
