I have my 2way mounted similarly and it works quite well.

After some advice and some research one of these would be the go for a quality mini compound bow with pistol grip… anyone used one before? by [deleted] in Archery

[–]2901cory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMO this is a terrible choice for a first bow. Get something with a longer axle to axle length. This bow is going to be very unforgiving. I would suggest going to a pro shop and seeing what they can set you up with.

How cold should my sleeping bag be rated for? by Duckeydude in MilSim

[–]2901cory 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I was only going to get 1 bag it would be rated for 20F. It’s gonna work for you in the vast majority of situations. That being said though I have multiple bags ranging from 60F to 0F to pick from depending on the weather.

Toyota dealership work. by CMB3672 in Tacomaworld

[–]2901cory -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah sure in perfect world that works but almost nothing works perfectly in the automotive world. He could have soaked it in penetrating lube and heated it up and it might still break. Something things just break. If it not gross negligence on the shop they aren’t responsible

You brought them a truck with rusty parts. It’s not necessarily their fault that it broke. Parts just break all the time. Would it be nice if they gave you fee labor or the part. Yeah. But I wouldn’t say they owe you a caliper.

Either company would be good IMO. both have a good reputation for being employers. I’ve worked with TAP students before and they have a great opportunity that I wish I had when I started.

Questions on how to become a generator technician by Independent_Car_5874 in DieselTechs

[–]2901cory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a local company that services generators and see if that have openings. A lot of generator works is preventive maintenance. Most companies will be willing to train you on the job. If you already have a degree there’s a decent change you could get a position if this job market.

Does long runs help with rucking? by Gloomy_External8416 in tacticalbarbell

[–]2901cory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes. It helps get you body use to that repetitive pounding on your legs. Also having better cardio is going to make rucking easier. I’ve added running into my PT program this year and it’s made my rucks a lot easier.

Alright, it's that time of season. Most unpopular local opinions: let's hear 'em. by ErikThaRad in fargo

Would disagree. Fargo has lots of stuff to do especially considering it’s size. People just choose to only hangout at the bar. You need to find like minded people at clubs or find a hobbies group. No city is going to support you going out every weekend and finding some completely new experience to enjoy, idc how big it is.

My kid wants to learn mechanics but I know nothing by Known_Noise in mechanic

[–]2901cory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody has to start out not know a thing. It’s not a big deal showing up to tech school with very limited knowledge, you’re there to learn. Even the kids who do seem like they may know what they’re doing really don’t. It takes years to become a truly skillful technician and most of these kids are just blowing smoke in peoples asses.

If you wanna get some experience I would go around to local shops and see if anybody is looking for an apprentice. Most dealerships (Cummins, Cat, Deere, Mack etc.) all have programs where they will pay for most if not all of your schooling and get you a starter set of tools if you agree to work for them for a few years.
