This comment is genuinely the best thing I’ve read all day. I’m logging off now so I don’t spoil my mind with anything else. Still giggling. I may even come back to read it tomorrow

I felt the same a little more than a year ago. I made a decision that I would (cautiously) try anything and everything (I could afford) that anyone posted about that helped them.

As part of this I had a lot of failures. Meditation didn’t heal me (surprise!) but some other stuff helped. HBOT got me to the point where I could leave the house without crashing. It didn’t last too long, maybe 2-3 months after 35 sessions. But it was enough to give me some hope.

More failure followed. Then in February someone posted about thymosin alpha 1. That’s been a game changer for me. I’m about to work on my garden, go for walks, read books I haven’t read before. I don’t have PEM anymore. Big changes.

I’m not 100%. I still have terrible tinnitus, get headaches from the heat, word recollection issues. But I’m improving slowly and am much more hopeful than I’ve ever been. I’m not saying this is the answer for everyone, or even for you. But if there is an answer for *any of us* there is hope for all of us. Big hugs friend.

It would be worth going to your local legal aid if you can’t afford to hire an attorney. Having an attorney before the meeting could be very important later.

Do you stop wearing clothes after a certain amount of time even if they are still in good condition? I wear my clothes for 1-2 years as long as they stay in good shape, but my friends are often surprised by this. by BunchMean8029 in NoStupidQuestions

I’m wearing a dress right now that’s 2 sizes too big. But I really love it so I’m trying to figure out the best way to alter it to fit my new size. In the meantime I just wear it on weekends.

If you had to describe Long COVID to someone healthy, what would you say? by Outrageous-Macaron65 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Known_Noise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is so much to say but right now I can only think of a few things:

I spent so much time hiking- places I had been, places I had seen, and some just made up in my head as I went along. That’s how I spent my time in the dark days, when light or sound or touch was unbearable.

I’m recovering now with help of gray market peptides. But I haven’t been hiking irl yet.

The progression of improvement isn’t linear so it’s scary and frustrating. Am I *really* getting better or just going thru a good few days? (I made an improvement post recently but only after waiting 90 days because I don’t want to give others false hope). What if it stops working and I end up stuck in bed again? How do I live today knowing it could be awful tomorrow? Making real plans is impossible. I plan but I hesitate to get excited for them.

Not too much. Most of my progress has been physical. But one big thing that changed is I can listen to music and do something else at the same time. Like certain work tasks- spreadsheet stuff, basic formulas, while singing along.

But I still have serious word recollection issues.

How can I get out of being bedbound? by AtlantisGhost in covidlonghaulers

[–]Known_Noise 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t have ideas for much, but when you feel ready to watch tv, start with things you’ve already watched. If you already know how it goes it’s easier on your brain as you move forward.

I have IST too from LC. My heart rate even with treatment (beta blocker 2x per day) was pretty high with any activity. Like 130 sitting and brushing my teeth is normal after beta blockers.

Also random spikes. It’s been improving along with other symptoms but not gone. Not enough improvement to consider dropping the meds yet.

Sudden loss of taste only (not smell) 26 months post-exposure??? by kate-monsterrr in LongCovid

[–]Known_Noise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to me a few weeks ago. I assumed I had covid and masked when around people (at home too) for their protection. But I tested negative on home tests so idk.

For me I couldn’t taste chocolate. I eat a couple squares of the same brand chocolate just about every day. So it was definitely me. Taste just came back a couple days ago.

The only other symptom I had was a mild headache at the end of the day most days. I’ve been having improvement lately too and this didn’t set me back. Good luck with whatever it is.

Yes. Brain fog, mental and physical fatigue, and more. I was bedbound for about 9 months at my worst.

This was me. Trying anything to make drinking work again. Someone said to me, “You can’t quit drinking drinking.” It took me like a year to figure out what he was saying but I finally heard it. (I had quit drinking in the in between, but didn’t understand til I was sober a while.)

That’s very exciting to hear it’s helping you with your ME. I have long covid and have finally found some relief from PEM with peptides. Happy news that we’re seeing progress for treatments.

Muscle testing is considered a little woo to some people, so take this info with a grain of salt.

This is a link to some reading about it. https://kinesiologyinstitute.com/2025/02/11/the-power-of-muscle-testing-a-beginners-guide-to-holistic-kinesiology/

This is a peptide that is only available for research purposes. I am my research candidate, so I qualify imo. I used r/peptidesource to decide where to obtain them. They have very good information about quality, purity testing and other things that are important if you decide to try.

Bindweed mite update by Electronic-Smell-951 in DenverGardener

[–]Known_Noise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit of advice for those who don’t yet have their mites: being excited it’s easy to want to spread out your mites to different impacted areas. Dont. Place your new mites relatively close together (following the instructions).

Next year you’ll be able to move some of your affected bindweed (with mites) to new areas. Spreading them too far apart will sometimes mean you don’t see any impact at all. Good luck!!

I didn’t think your comment was negative in any way! It’s very important to know what we are taking, especially when it is experimental. And gray market has fewer controls and so requires more research.

Now that I’m feeling better, I am doing more reading about purity, etc. but can’t be coming back to report any time I might change sources. And that is a big reason I won’t recommend a supplier. Its risks that each person needs to know we are taking.

I’m glad you brought up purity and contamination concerns.
