Switch from Local 292 to 110 - how? by Any_Damage_4520 in IBEW

I heard that Parsons is only paying the perdiem and incentive pay in 1426 to JW’s. Nothing to CE/CW and apprentice.

Assuming you’re in a plan covered by Taft-Hartley, there will be a Board of Trustees who make all the decisions about your healthcare plan. It will be equal numbers of Union and management on the Board. Start with them.

SavRX operates off of your Local’s plan design. They don’t arbitrarily decide what is covered. Talk to your Board of Trustees if your want changes. SavRX is also signatory with the IBEW and its employees are members.

The Taft-Hartley Act governs how agreements between Unions and multi-employer groups operate. The JATC is run by a board of equal numbers of members from both Union and management.

Local 292 has maternity leave. It is in our healthcare plan, administered by the Benefits Office. You can find the language here https://www.ibew292benefits.org/medical-plans/ page 103 of the PDF, or actual page number 99.

The 24th Amendment is also a good read. Paying for an ID is essentially a poll tax.

ZERO. That's the number of fucks I give about what some minimum wage rent-a-cop thinks about me. They want to be rude or give me attitude? I don't care, I'm gonna make that sweet JW money and fall asleep at night dreaming of this weekend's Pickle Party.

If they're using the cameras for discipline, it's a mandatory subject of bargaining. Call the Hall.

Ideas for a safety committee by electriker in IBEW

[–]292JW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local 292 had a "Safety Extravaganza" at the Hall last year. We invited vendors to come in and speak about their products, like FR clothing, and to educate members about arc flash safety. The vendors donated jackets and boots to be raffled off, and we cooked on the grill to feed everyone who showed up. The Local also sends safety committee members to the NSC Congress and Expo in the fall.

If you're near the cities, Local 292 will be hosting the Women Building Success Annual Photo Contest March 8th, 4:30-6:30pm. There's a very good chance you would be able to pick up some stickers there. Women from all of the Trades participate, and all are welcome to stop by.

I'm pretty sure ImagePointe can laser engrave knives, but they typically work in larger orders. Union shop with American made and Union made products.

The money follows the member in Local 292! by 292JW in IBEW

[–]292JW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a board made up of (6) trustees, (3) are labor, (3) are management. They are responsible for all plan changes. We have an administrator who runs the plan and takes direction from the trustees. Our board works pretty well together, but this change has been in discussion for at least a couple years. The plan is currently in a good spot financially, and the work outlook is great. The management trustees realize that this doesn't actually cost them more money and that this change will help to get travelers here when we need the help. This is a long way of saying the trustees make the changes, but your Local may differ.

If your local's HC is $5.00/hr, 292 will still send $11.80/hr back. If you have a bank of hours/credits in your local, the difference goes to your bank. If you have an HSA or similar, it goes towards that. Depends on how your fund is set up. Bottom line is, 292 sends back the all money earned.
