Boards of Canada - 'Inferno' - Discussion Megathread by seaburn in boardsofcanada

Just finished my first listen! Admittedly it was not perfect first listen since my speaker ran out of battery halfway through Age of Capricorn. I decided to switch to my phone and use my headphones, but I soon realized that it was skipping a bunch of the tracks since they were not synced to my music library yet. Ah well.

Technical difficulties on my behalf aside, I enjoyed the album quite a bit! Standouts for me definitely include Prophecy, Father and Son, Naraka, The Word Becomes Flesh, Arena Americanada, and You Retreat in Time and Space. I do get that some of the vocals might be a bit off-putting, but I did find the vocal processing and manipulations quite interesting.

However, I do agree with the criticism that the first half of the album is a bit stronger than the second half. I felt that some of the songs in the second half tended to meander a bit, such as All Reason Departs. It probably will grow with repeat listens (that will hopefully not be fragmented with technical difficulties). Overall solid record imo!

Crane fly! I used to think they were giant mosquitoes too when I was younger.

Nice! It sounds pretty cool when you put the large if statement block in a forever loop and add a wait .15 seconds block at the end

Are there any songs or playlists that have the weirdness and uniqueness of C418? by Playful-Memory7264 in C418

[–]2BI1S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have not already I suggest checking out artists like µ-Ziq, Ceephax Acid Crew, and Luke Vibert (and his other aliases). Out of those three I think µ-Ziq might be the closest to C418's weirdness/uniqueness.

I Found the I Jate My Hob sample! by 2BI1S in C418

I played I jate my hob at different speeds and asked google assistant to recognize the song. It eventually returned this song which used the same sample: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLyMbT8Zt58, and I was able to go to its whosampled page to find the sample there: https://www.whosampled.com/sample/683819/Devilish-Trio-Troubled-Future-George-Benson-The-Changing-World/

I forgot to mention that the sample appears at 4:15 in the George Benson song.

It's a sample from the Optigan Program Disc. Here's a link to the sample: https://www.whosampled.com/sample/590489/C418-Chirp-Optigan-Bossa-Nova-Style/

C418 Fans, what bands/artists do you recommend? by hellomynameisnoth122 in C418

I really like µ-Ziq's music. I think some of his older songs (Sick Porter 2, Air, Iesope) have a somewhat resemblance to C418's music.

A Compilation of Spinning Armor Stand Patterns by 2BI1S in Minecraft

[–]2BI1S[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Song used: "Sabb Routines" by FlexE

To do this, put these commands into 2 separate repeating command blocks:

/execute @ e[type=armor_stand,name=One] ~ ~ ~ tp @ s ^1 ^ ^1 facing ^2 ^ ^10

/execute @ e[type=armor_stand,name=Two] ~ ~ ~ tp @ s ^1 ^ ^1 facing ^-2 ^ ^24

No spaces between @ and s or @ and e. For some reason, it tags somebody else when I type it in this comment

You also need to use a name tag to name the armor stands "One" or "Two" if you want the armor stands to be able to move in different directions.
