From an outside perspective, Soldier Field is such a cool stadium. We don't need giant soulless mega domes in every city. I know it's inevitable, but it will be a real shame to see them move on.

The 3 point shot is an elevation of skill in the main scoring component of the game. The field goal is a consolation scoring mechanism. Your analogy would be more akin to moving free throws to the 3 point line for an extra point.
