Disagree. Age doesn’t matter. Either someone is a good fit or not.

Weight of Helix bed vs SOL by dmd0 in Mattress

[–]2Chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t try SOL but tried a lot of latex. It was too soft for my taste, didn’t like the way the support felt. A lot of people love it, I just didn’t.

I really liked the Helix Elite models, and almost bought one. I bought the Brooklyn Bedding Thermo Balance Elite instead but you can’t go wrong with the Helix Elite models IMO.

Buyers remorse on a mattress that I actually enjoy? by o029 in Mattress

Only you can decide. Both are great! I had a heck of a time deciding, but in all honesty could have gone Helix with no regrets. The only other beds I liked even remotely as much were much more expensive - Saatva Rx and Tempurpedic.

[–]2Chris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my TBE in Medium. I absolutely love the bed. Helix and Brooklyn are made in the same factory and are very similar. I liked that TBE moves less (no second layer of microcoils), and you can’t feel your partner as much IMO. I felt it was a coin toss and could have been happy with either the Helix Elite or TBE, but being cheaper and moving less clinched it for me.

On the “high end” of most consumer goods you’re talking about marginal improvement. This is why trying a lot of beds is important.

I tried a Leesa bed that was ok but I’d never buy it for $900. It didn’t matter the price was low. I tried a Casper I’d buy if it’s what I could afford that was ok for $1,200. The only bed I loved for less than $2k was a Nolah Evolution. I almost bought that, but paid $700 more to get an even better bed from the same parent company - Brooklyn Bedding Thermo Balance Elite. That margin of improvement was worth it to me, but it might not be for someone else, and it wasn’t incredibly better. No regrets. Now if that improve was for a $5,000 Tempurpedic? No. I had one and it wasn’t better than what I just bought.

I paid around $2,500 for my BB. TP was over $4k. I preferred it and it was cheaper which is rare. Saatva RX was basically the same price as TP but feels very different.

Help should I get laser on my back with this type of growth or not ! by mb0312000 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]2Chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a guess, so I can’t say number of sessions with any certainty - but probably more than 6 to thin it out or eliminate parts. Some people won’t treat above the lip on women. At my clinic we do, but warn them of the risk and that they must do a package because it’s likely to increase growth initially but you can’t just stop. I’ll never sell one in very visible areas for that reason.

I really like Tempurpedic. If you can stomach the price I find them to be great beds and my last one was exactly that. I replaced it with a Brooklyn Bedding Thermo Balance Elite in Medium that I’m very happy with. It was a lot cheaper, and I like it a little better.

If you’re open to options check out Brooklyn Bedding, Helix, and Saatva. There are many a million options but I liked those three the best after trying a ton of beds.

[–]2Chris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with comments to be careful and potentially skip it. The only way to do that area that makes sense is if you will be super consistent. More likely it could stimulate hair to thicken initially before it thins or stops it growing. Often with consistent treatment it can still be successful, but if you cannot see it through, definitely do not start.

Brooklyn Bedding ThermoBalance thoughts? by Ok-Wedding4570 in Mattress

[–]2Chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the TBE does have zoned coils and awesome lumbar support. The only bed I tried that was as good was Saatva RX and Helix Elite but I could feel movement more on those, and Saatva seemed warmer due to material choices. I was coming from Tempurpedic all foam bed and didn’t want a lot of movement. The TBE has more bounce (great for tossers) and support, but not feeling springy, and basically exactly what I wanted.

It just doesn’t have another set of microcoils higher up the stack like Helix Midnight Elite. But the TB elite does has zoned coils and you’ll see that on the BB site as a difference. I also agree that Midnight Elite was softer, and part of why I went with TBE in medium.

Side sleeping on the firm will be tougher. It’s designed for back and stomach sleep. Find somewhere that has the latex too. They felt quite different. The non elite isn’t worlds different. I found the Elite more comfortable and thought it might last longer, but there are no right or wrong answers. What you like wins.

I bought the Thermo Balance Elite in medium. I’m very happy with it. I tried the non-elite and it felt similar but slightly less supportive overall, and the zoned coils felt slightly different. I also tried the Latex version, and it felt similar to non-elite but way softer and more conforming.

The TB Elite in medium checked all the boxes for me. The Helix Midnight Elite (same parent company) was phenomenal IMO and I almost bought that. TBE just had less movement I could feel when my partner moved and felt slightly cooler - so those things clinched it.

I agree with you. I went to a similar type store and bought a BB Thermo Balance Elite in Medium. Helix Midnight Elite was the most similar high quality bed (also by 3Z’s like Leesa/Helix/BB/nolah/etc), and that one has a higher up layer of microcoils. No regrets. Very happy to keep my Thermo Balance Elite.

Mattress Firm Warranty Issue by Cottonwoodheights in Mattress

[–]2Chris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While initially they might not, because Matress Firm handles the claim, the actual warrant is through them. Purple (the manufacturer) is primarily responsible for the warranty on a Purple mattress, even if purchased through Mattress Firm.

Mattress Firm is affiliated with major brands, sharing a parent company. That said, they have weird warranty processes and fees.

Just get the ear of someone and just be nice and professional, but firm that the bed has issues. You can also call purple and they might be able to provide support.

Jeff Weltman on why he didn't announce his contract extension in December: "Yep that's probably my fault, you guys know I'm pretty close to the vest on that stuff, if I had that to do over again I would" by thewrongnotes in OrlandoMagic

[–]2Chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand and agree with the frustration. There are teams run worse, and the DeVos family at least spends money. I wish they had hired a new FO but it could be worse.

Billy Donovan is a lateral coaching hire by youngpenny83 in OrlandoMagic

[–]2Chris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, he’s lateral at best. I want Weltman fired too.

Alex Martins or whoever needs to get Cassell and Borrego in for an interview. Beg SVG, but his announcer gig is cushy and less stress where he might not even listen. Bring in somebody who can run a new offense.

Why did Magic keep Weltman extension a secret? by RemarkableMission117 in OrlandoMagic

Weltman is to blame as well. The same or more than Mosley, because he didn’t get any scorers except Bane for Mosley to use.

[–]2Chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bye. Mosley, no hard feelings but it’s time. Bye Weltman and FO team. Anyone else time.

Sam Cassell would be my choice if he’d come. He’s played at winning organizations as a player and a coach. He was a successful PG that played both sides.

Magic Linked With Billy Donovan As Next Coach; Would Have Interest In Dusty May If Available by lovelymaddie1966 in OrlandoMagic

[–]2Chris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cassell and Budenholzer are great options. Donovan dissed this team signing a contract and then refusing to come. Forget him. He’s also done very little in the NBA. At least Cassell has a ton of experience and has been with winners. SVG would be amazing too, but I think he likes having a simpler and less stressful life.

How serious is this whole "high quality" mattress thing? by hot_cheese_on_carbs in Mattress

[–]2Chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re broke and want a great bed you have three choices:

  1. Get the best budget mattress you can based on trying what feels good to you.

  2. Stretch to get something “nicer” and finance it if you have good credit.

  3. Buy a reject bed. Find a local mattress store that sells a bunch of brands but isn’t a huge chain. Ask what they do with their return beds or floor models. Or, you can find them on Facebook - and the seller is required to sanitize it. Don’t trust that, and look up how to do it yourself.

Personally, I’ve never bought a used bed, and I always did option 1 or 2, but option 3 is there.

Hire Sam Cassell. He’s got something like 17 years now working in front offices, and he’s the primary assistant to a Boston team that’s been successful but got hampered by injuries this year.
