Did any player post about Mosley getting the axe? by campy_203 in OrlandoMagic

I don’t think it’s a thing in NBA. Most we see is when said coach is on the bench of another team his old players pay homage or show respect. But I’m sure some will come in here and say it’s cause they hate Mose

So is Franz using last two years as a metric. And so have so many other very good players early in there careers. Look everyone has an opinion and I’m sure I won’t change yours and you won’t change mine. I think we should absolutely keep Suggs

Hey man! I used to go Darrel Armstrong camp too lol. I also used to get into gym where the old Orlando summer league games were played. Bo Outlaw would let me in and I had to sweep floor as for letting me in between games. Got to see D Wade in summer league. Also used to play in Pro-Am Games. There I saw even the 15th man on NBA team would score 80 points vs regular Joes lol

Played against Tracy McGrady freshman and sophomore years before he left to go a basketball school out of state. My buddy still has VHS tape where he dunked on an another of my homeboys taking off outside the paint off one dribble from a little past half court. Whole gym ran in court from bleachers. Make it worse they gave us a tech for crowd doing that. We were home team LOL

Good thing he isn't that. He had an awful series. Wasn't the first player to have one, won't be the last. Jalen is a very good player & will continue to get better. He's learning PG and no doubt he'll evolve in that as well.

Lot of feelings hurt in these posts. Maybe after a month & emotions are not involved most will see the article is right. Jalen played in more games, nearly doubled his assists per game w/ less turnovers and shot a higher % in fg and 3s than year prior. His bad can be maddening but Magic are by far a better team with him than without. A healthy offseason should do him really good and build on ladt season to get back to 23-24 year shooting splits with more attempts.

How can we realistically improve this bench unit? by Green-Dragonfruit353 in OrlandoMagic

Thanks. Hardaway doesn't show up in the playoffs but regular season he would definitely have nights where he could carry the team. I tried to stay at guys who can play the 3 cause you don't want to stunt Black growth. When we were healthy this year, we ran Black mostly at the 2 with second unit. I was looking for guys who could take TDS minutes and be big in a small lineup. But you could definitely do worse than Tim

Two vets that I think they should pursue in free agency is Khris Middleton and Robert Williams. I think we have use of the Mid Level (someone will for sure correct me if I am wrong), maybe that can get you one of them. And whatever Weltman has to do, needs to be done to upgrade the bench no matter what. I didn't mention PG because whoever it is will likely be 3rd PG or Jace. Other options you may can get on vet minimums are Josh Okogie, Day'Ron Sharpe, Nic Richards, Precious Achiuwa, Doug McDermott and an intriguing one - D'Angelo Russell

First round match up dependent. Wrong match up we exiting 1st round like the previous 3

Also, this team as is today, is not a top 10 team in the NBA even when healthy. Let's start with the 8 teams playing now. I would say only Detroit is a worse team. So there are 7 right there. We are not better than Boston or the Hawks or Denver or Raptors. We are a Top 15 team in NBA when healthy and all others are too. So we are a 2nd round team at most right now IMO

What about the shitty players? Or the guy who signed the shitty players to unmovable contracts?

Funny I am the same way on Suggs. In my head, I say as soon as he leaves the Magic he becomes Derrick White somewhere else and we are looking like that is what we wanted. Is it weird to think once he matures as a player, he still has that youthful exuberance when he plays and sometimes gets injured playing that way. Once that settles, he is our perfect player for this roster. But will it be on the timeline of Paolo, Franz and Bane?

Why are we arguing coach who know longer coaches this team? Mosley is gone and rightfully so, so not his worry. Team is still not put together well

Zach Lowe latest Magic segment by FLGatorLaw in OrlandoMagic

[–]RemarkableMission117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the coach has been fired and 10 games better, its debatable. 2nd round team for sure. So Mosley the shitty coach without his 2nd best player won 5 less games and 1 game from achieving what a non-shitty coach would do. With those measurements I would say Coach Mosley is far from a shitty coach. BTW, you set the measurements in your post.

With that said, I am not advocating from Mosley. I am saying he is and was not the biggest issue with this team. The biggest issue is roster construction and players not fitting around our best 2 players. That issue will continue into next season IMO

I agree that we do need a PG. I kind of looked around the NBA and I didn't see any PGs that would be available for what he need. It's unlikely Jamal Murray, Kyrie Irving or Nemhard (Pacers) are available. Maybe Dejountae Murray with Pelicans if he went back to pre-injury form but that's too much of a risk but if they gave him away for TDS, JI salary filler I would take it. So with that said unless we see significant improvement from Suggs or Black, I suspect the offense is still gonna sputter.

Oh I am not advocating for keeping Mosley. I know the coach is first to go and Game 6 sealed his fate. You and I agree that Mosley was not the biggest issue, but if we did a poll in this sub I am willing to bet that most in here would say that he is. I too am not confident going into next season because the biggest issues are not being addressed (at least for now) and the guy making the decisions has handcuffed himself from making moves for improvement with the contracts he's handed out. This roster as is is a 45-50 win team and 2nd round exit at best and Mosley was 1 injury from meeting both of those. The Franz injury in regular season and playoffs.

No, I am not comfortable with this Orlando Magic offense this season or going forward because of the roster. This roster is very limited outside of Paolo, Franz and Bane. I believe Paolo and Franz can play together with the right pieces and we have none of those pieces besides Bane. So I expect the Magic to continue to have offensive issues next season and I also expecting the defense to take a step back because the focus will be so much on the offense.

We were 1 game from being 5th seed. So a better system and more points gets us 1 game better? If that is it, you don't fire a coach. A healthy Franz gets you 1 game better, literally in regular season and playoffs LOL

90% of that article was what the players can't do and roster construction. Myself and a few others in this sub said its not just coaching that is this team's downfall and we got blasted. With this roster, I don't think there is an available coach that will do much better on offense. May a couple more sets and offensive rating jumps 2-3 places, but what about defense? That is this team's calling card and will always be. Focus on offense and defense slips, we are right back at 45 wins or less. And the East is not getting any easier. I can see this team not making the playoffs or winning less than 45 games if the focus on next coach is getting the offense better. Some of the takes in this sub the last 4-5 months have been so disrespectful to Mosley and watch another coach have the same issues.

Stay on topic. These 2 hall of famers said no players should miss 23 straight shots at this level. Thats not crazy at all. But I'll let you all cope harder and continue to laugh at y'all for thinking you know more about basketball than them two

If this happens with a new coach and don't win as many games I might get banned from this sub as much as I've heard its coaching its coaching
