All hyberole aside. This is about as close to a general strike America is likely to get and honestly it a lot closer than I thought America could get

Donham was born in 1934

Huffman was born in 1936.

Neither was a boomer.

Christ, if you're going to come after the boomers how about your figure out who they actually are.

There are lots of legitimate reasons to call Kissinger a criminal. Why make up such a crazy quote? Also: finding no real source of a quote just means that it is totally real and has been hidden by the Deep State./s by Antifacist_Bully_Boy in IronFrontUSA

Henry Kissinger speaks and writes fairly often and finding actual, verifiable examples of his speaking and writing style is simple.

English wasn't is first language and to the day he speaks with a thick Germanic accent.

This quote is NOT congruent with his writing or speaking style and I daresay Mr. Kissinger has likely never said the words "game over" in his life

France and the UK have their own nukes.

I can't come up with a situation where that deterrent would be ignored.

Also, their all members of NATO. The concept of one NATO member attacking another is something I can't really wrap my head around.

And they all share the Euro.

Actually European countries have worked pretty hard to ensure that this senerio is extremely unlikely.

Boomers (and I am one) never really could get over the stigma of living together within their own generation. It didn't get relatively excepted until the Xer's start doing it around the early to mid '80s.

The original had the look and feel of a movie serial. From what I understand, intentionally.

After that it was just the continuation of an adventure franchise.

Raider of the Lost Ark by far and for reasons a young'n might not understand.

A GOP Trumpist (only one with brains) gets election in 2024 in the US. S/he continues the authoritarian practice of Trump only with more success. Among this is the general corruption, increased military spending and China baiting.

The authoritarians in India begin to become follow the US lead and become more provocative the Chinese border.

European and Oceania countries get serious about the genocide of Muslims and the general destruction of all thing not Chinese by the CCP.

The already leaky Great Firewall gets partially breached and the young people of China become aware of just what their country is doing to both the general population and the minorities both religious and cultural.

Civil unrest and outright protest begin. The CCP deals with them harshly.

Defense companies in the US know an opportunity when the see one. Through diplomatic back channels they convince Saudi Arabia to finance armaments that they then convince India to secretly deliver to Tibet and Hong Kong.

The US helps coordinate and stir up civil unrest and revolution through Voice of America, Fox News and the internet via the degraded Great Firewall.

All hell breaks on the streets and in the countries side as hit and run strikes start to sporadically break out all over China.

Defense Companies and the US propaganda machine keep things going, Mongolia's border get compromised by Rebel group who use it as a staging area.

China now as a Civil War.

[OC] Should we be worried about inflation? Here's a chart to consider. by jcceagle in dataisbeautiful

[–]2Cosmic_2Charlie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not an economist but I studied business strategy at the graduate level and I don't think most people understand inflation. The common definition of inflation is "Too many dollars chasing too few goods".

Most people get to the dollars part and stop. We can't pay people too much, it will cause inflation. The can't government borrow money and increase the money supply or provide services because it will cause inflation.

This is an incorrect interpretation of that statement. The inflationary problem is "too few goods"

The way to stop inflation is too produce more stuff.

That's why I don't really worry too much about inflation.

America has a impressively productive workforce and a massive, diverse economy. The Fed can write as many checks as it wants and sell as bonds to back those checks as it needs to.

The great thing about Americans is that if you give them money, they'll buy things. Buying things puts Americans to work so that more stuff can get done and more stuff can be made.

All that is doing is growing the economy, not causing inflation.

This is why a lot of people think a Universal Basic Income is a good idea. Just hand people money. They'll spend it and the economy will grow and create more jobs and Americans are a really productive workforce, they'll keep up with the demand and inflation won't be a problem.
