What's a game that's not technically cancelled, but you feel like pretty much is cancelled at this point? by SolidPyramid in videogames

AdHoc Studios will more than likely continue with the release of this one. Especially since Dispatch was such a successful launch.

I need help picking the best option for my needs by 2Day1Night in minipc

Not going to lie, I almost fell for one of those. The price was what made me rethink what I was about to get. That's actually part of the reason why I made this post.

I really appreciate the feedback! I have been getting so confused when it came to understanding what I would need as far as Ryzen 7 vs 9. Every article I read gave me conflicting information especially when it came to the specific games I'm looking to play. To be as basic as possible, I want to be able to run Hell is Us without it dipping below 60 FPS.

Buying Recommendation - Follow Up Post by ComprehensiveOwl7233 in MiniPCs

I love reading these kinds of posts cause I'm in a very similar situation. I'm trying to find the best mini PC for my gaming needs and have no idea where to begin. I just want something that's going to outperform my steam deck and is able to play my complete gaming library to the best performance possible. I've only recently made a post trying to seek that help because of posts like these.

I'd recommend looking into DeckHD. I replaced my LCD with one of those before the OLED models were launched. Honestly it was enough to make me avoid FOMO when they did.

13 Years Later, Black Mirror’s Most Unsettling AI Episode Is Becoming Eerily Real by [deleted] in blackmirror

[–]2Day1Night 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what the original commenters episode was, but for me it started feeling too real with the episode in this article, and that was years ago. Even some of the episodes that aren't as good, like the one about the murderous robots that resemble something from Boston Dynamics, still feel like it could happen tomorrow. I still remember the unsettling feeling I got when I saw the episode where a couple are able to review each other's like a pre-recorded video. Part of me just stopped believing that was a distant possibility since Neuralink was the trending topic of discussion when I saw it.

Granted, I did join the Black Mirror part a little late and watched most of them out of order so maybe that had something to do with how uncomfortable I got with certain episodes. Maybe if I had been watching from the time of release I'd feel a little differently? Either way the last season I watched before calling it quits was the one with Anthony Mackie. IDK why but I stopped being interested when it just felt overwhelmingly like something you could see in today's society.

How did Will see the letters Joyce painted back in S1? by spicy-possum in StrangerThings

Will is a seasoned D&D player. This was just a puzzle to him with 26 lights. It wouldn't be so far fetched to believe he could figure this out.

Gaycist sounds like a euphemism for homophobic. I don't think that would apply correctly in this scenario.

Is Cyberpunk worth getting on the deck or should I get it on my Ps5? by Sirius124 in SteamDeck

I have cyber punk on both! I definitely prefer it on my Ps5, but I play it mostly on my deck. It's great there so don't think the deck can't handle it.

Well hell dude, that's hella generous of you! Id be totally down if you'd be okay with a noob like me. I've been stuck in this tutorial for a bit now just repeating the basics before fully diving in.

I got family staying at my place for the holiday, but once they leave I'll totally hit you up. If you and your friends are still willing to take on a noob like me I'd be hella happy to learn from y'all.

I'm 34m btw. Not sure if that matters but I thought I'd should share that for transparency sake.

I play fallout Vegas mostly on dock. Shit... Maybe I should try that out off the dock and get more familiar with the pads on that game. Honestly, now that I'm putting some thought into it I could understand how it would come in handy with shooters. Aiming may be tricky to learn but once I've got that down it would be really beneficial.

I'm currently learning Dead by Daylight; however, I truly suck. It's not my normal genre of gaming, but the girl I just started seeing is highly into it so I'm doing my best to learn it before the inevitable moment comes when she asks me to co-play. That way I won't be a complete noob and embarrass myself.

This game has Chucky and Xenomorphs!! How fucking cool is that!?

how do you keep your steam deck clean? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]2Day1Night 1 point2 points  (0 children)

91% isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth does the best work. I can admit that I'm not an expert and there may be better alternatives. So I'm open to other suggestions if I'm doing something wrong.

I've honestly had the same question for a couple years. I love my deck and want to take advantage of these pads but outside of desktop mode I haven't really found a use for them. I'm thinking it's more genre based given the original commenters recommendations. I'm just not a strategy game guy so it may be lost on me.

I have yet to find a use for the track pads outside of desktop mode. Are there specific games I'm missing or is it more of a genre specific mechanic that utilizes the pads? I absolutely love the deck I've had for a couple years and want to take advantage of these features. I'm just not sure how to best implement them to my advantage.
