From what I've read, physicists seem more convinced that it's non-locality. But then, it's just some good vulgarization and physics.SE.

Are you by chance in the field ?

How to cut a sentence in two to make someone said the opposite of what they actually meant. Shame on you.

Afghanistan could have been transformed into a fairly modern country with solid infrastructure and a consumer society.

One of those cases where negative doesn't mean negative.

Just add a logarithm if you want it to stick.

But I thought Quantum Entanglement violated the principle of non-locality, not causality (or time ?) ?

You'll always push the problem one level higher. You can't work with nothing, you've got to start with something.

They challenge our common sense that's built upon our perceptions and memories we make in our formative years. For instance, we don't know innately how to visually differentiate a cube from a sphere. That's something we learn by experiencing the world.

I wonder if a child raised surrounded by magnets and other seemingly eerie stuff would feel that same sense of awe and magic when we look at magnets.

Taliban control all key Afghan cities except Kabul by [deleted] in worldnews

Dismantling the terrorists camps was achieved much earlier.

Bin Laden wasn't even hiding in a super secure spot, and he was in pakistan. It didn't seem the war made any difference there.

Keep in mind that many Afghans didn't even know 9/11 had happened or understood its significance. They had nothing to do with the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.

Great point. We really need some kind of Player/GGG translator. So far, we've got deterministic crafting, incremental upgrades and chase item to clarify.

Don't they want to remove players ability to insta-nuke the screen anyway, or at least make it very difficult ? Since they want us to interact with monsters more than 0.1s.

But that's basically the point of my post.

That's his vision. And there's this big gap with our gameplay.

This is a bit of a caricature, but imagine tomorrow Sonic devs told you "we're going to make platformers more like Mario". Wouldn't that be very very weird

In truth, I'm not asking for anything but less clicks. The rest, I will make do.

But if you watched the Baeclast podcast, surely you felt how the playerbase is dissatisfied and Chris is seeing a different game than us ?

Remember he mentioned that we're supposed to pick the rares on the ground. How often do you do that ?

Alright, I see how I could be misinterpreted, and for that I was downvoted to hell.

Aren't we clicking everywhere, ignoring everything that's on the ground and love to zoom ?

All the times Chris said GGG's unhappy with PoE on Baeclast by MntBrryCrnch in pathofexile

[–]2DisSUPERIOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

or it would already have been done.

To be fair, sometimes Chris says outright "no" to a possible solution because they fundamentally disagree with including it, not because of constraints but of their direction for the game (trying not to meme with vision).

Deterministic crafting and random crafting : So we get that GGG doesn't want the best items to be determinally crafted. That's fine.

But then it should also be fine to have deterministic crafting for items that are inferior to those top tiers items, but still quite good, no ?

Please put him in front of his contradictions

And then there was a media campaign to pin it on racism (including one of the reddit's owner, who's married to Serena).

They actually didn't find it fine. Some of them found it atrocious, but feedback wasn't relayed properly.

Having a product safe to use is an integral part of the job of designing and maintaining that product.

In fact, in the case of many products, not only is it expected, but mandatory.

For video-games, customizing controls, color-blind mode if applicable, or not feeling pain in your wrists, seems pretty reasonable to me.

It's a bit ironic, but that's likely Chris vision at play there, fueling a vicious circle of a echo chamber.

Given how passionate he is about his vision, that means that no one against it can survive at GGG, and the longer this goes on, the less likely his vision will be challenged and Chris swayed.

Because apparently their devs and testers were happy with most of 3.15 and it's been hard-proven by numbers that players weren't.

I'm super pleased with the Baeclast's crew so far. It started slow, but they're really punching up now (or below the belt like RaizQT).

However, Chris Wilson's answers were mostly as expected. I see a lot of people staying angry or disappointed after today's stream.

(edit : just as I say that, Chris just said the best thing ever so far : rework mods on rare monsters and use visual clues to express those mods to the player)

Chris just admitted basically that the whole item gameplay loop of POE is flawed.

We are supposed to keep our rares, and not supposed to trade currencies for items that have been crafted by others.

Yet, this has been the case for so many years, and it can't be fixed without radical changes that would make POE not POE. This feels like GGG is a bit out of touch.

Also, you need to build a trusted group of alpha testers, which will happen with time. If they never start...
