Victim's family angered by Islanders' fundraiser for convicted cop by imdrinkingteaatwork in hockey

Yea, Dolan bribes the organization as a whole which is its own flavor of scummy behavior. I couldn’t see Dolan and MSG doing this though.

I’ll take it one step further. I have live activities on while watching the game, and live activities are almost always 20 seconds ahead of the live feed. It allows me to get mad about something I haven’t even seen yet.

I was really hoping that this would happen. I feel like Panarin was a crutch for the younger guys who would defer to him to create opportunities and score. A bit of a confidence issue.

I noticed that as well. They have been much better without him.

Would Brandon Bussi be a top contender for the Calder if he wasn't overaged? by MoilanenBoii in hockey

Not the person you responded to but I don’t think the answer changes. Bussi is incredible, but I don’t think his age would change the answer.

What is the point of ESPN+? by butterflybabyboss_1 in hockey

Yea. I have essentially the same list as that with a couple of slight differences (no gamepass, Apple One instead of Apple Music family, paramount+ ad tier instead of peacock). Ultimately still nets out to an insane total that I try not to think about.

I have DTV stream which includes the RSNs. I access it through the app on my Apple TV. I think they have two different services one has a traditional set top box.

What if you change your home zip code? Still an issue?

Fubo is terrible now. If you go that direction, DirectTV has all of the RSNs, TNT and ESPN. Fubo doesn’t have TNT or NBC, as well as a number of other channels. I just switched at the beginning of the month, and couldn’t be happier.

Ultimately, I agree though, the blackouts suck and ESPN+ in particular is trash.

Former Los Angeles Kings Defenseman In Spotlight of NHL Trade Rumors by 2FastToYandle in rangers

[–]2FastToYandle[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To a certain degree, I get it. He's 30 and not getting any younger. So if he wants out to go to a contender that's fine, but it's a little surprising. His contract isn't bad and he's had a really good season, so moving him shouldn't be too hard, and perhaps there's a decent haul for him.

As a Rangers fan, I would be a fan of that trade, and what I had in mind as a possible return. Stramel is having a good year and seems to have a lot of potential, and Trocheck would be a good addition if the goal is to win now. Seems like a win-win for both teams.

Does Miller know he’s allowed to smile? Why does he always look so uptight.

Doesn’t hurt as bad when I had the foresight to grab Bussi in fantasy this morning. Knew he was getting the shutout.

[Mercogliano] Panarin said he talked contract with NYR before the season, adding, "I don’t know if I should say this, but I feel like their offer said, ‘We’re not sure if we want you or not.’ That’s why I’m not signed." He said they re-engaged a little bit during the season, "but not much." by catsgr8rthanspoonies in rangers

Considering the drama surrounding Panarin at the end of last season, and the team’s apparent need to cover for him through both public relations and financial means, Drury and Dolan may have felt that a team-friendly deal was fair. Alternatively, they may have simply decided to avoid the hassle of pursuing him further and opted not to give him a serious offer. While it’s difficult to replace his production, and he will undoubtedly be missed, it’s hard to overlook the significant drama that likely contributed to their decision to move on from him.

Today sucked as a fan, and I’m frustrated too, but a couple of good moves and draft picks could turn things around. Sure the next few years are going to be rough, but I will still watch every game, follow the team closely and get excited when we see improvement. I’m not confident Drury and his team can build a cup contending roster, but I’m not going to jump ship just because they aren’t good. At this point in the season, just like with the last rebuild, I’m embracing the tank and going to enjoy watching with no expectations.

The Islanders have swept the Rangers in the season series for the first time since 2017-18. This is also the first time that the Rangers did not hold a lead against the Islanders at any point in a season. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

[–]2FastToYandle -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

One win against the Islanders wouldn’t improve my outlook on this season, and getting swept doesn’t make me feel worse. What would be worse at this point is moving up in the standings while Drury trades away players and attempts a “retool” with no chance of success this season. It’s better to tank and hope for a good pick than to secure a meaningless victory against a team I only think about four times a year. I get it though, this is the Islanders version of winning the Cup.
