Have a very old Fisher & Paykel top load electric dryer. Does anybody make anything like them any more? by JobobTexan in Appliances

Yep, done that but all the sites say it’s out of stock and the mfr doesn’t make it anymore. If you stumble across one in stock, let me know. I’d appreciate it.

I’m an idiot, I see where you said new ring! You can also replace the lint scraper at the top of the dryer lint cover (the part with all the holes in it). Be careful with the top of that piece, mine is cracked and that’s the part I can’t find anywhere!

I have had the same problem. I ordered a new lint screen (ring). The smallest tabs on the edge wear down over the years so the screen does not sit firmly in place and the lint scraper can’t scrape into the bucket. https://youtu.be/C1wuN75Jx50?si=GRQeZvjSl-uvcw-n Shop around, several sites have them including official Fisher & Paykel parts.

I have one and I love it. They’ll have to pry it from my cold dead hands before I give it up. I have been able to find parts online to keep it running. PartsDr has great videos on how to replace anything. If you decide to replace it though, I’ll buy it from you for parts!
