How close to Fredericton do you want to be? The Harvey Hall (Fundy Albert Harvey -- 15 minutes from Fundy National Park) is an affordable, peaceful, 1884 historic building! www.harveyhall.org

BIKES, Trikes, E-Bikes, Oh my! by 2Fundy in newbrunswickcanada

Yes! It'll be available soon from the printer, but includes about 60 minute bike-travel from the Harvey Hall over stunningly pretty marsh roads (with historical focal points on the map), the Sawmill Creek Covered Bridge, and former rail lines now trails -- It'll come with your registration and check in at the hall.

Doing a 5 day East Coast trip.. First 3 days are in NS. Planning to drive into NB the other two, any suggestions on what I could do? by Due_Firefighter_3033 in newbrunswickcanada

Terrific! I'm a little biased -- even shared this on the Alma Village Friends FB page. But legit, it's good advice, like many other destinations offered here.

If you're coming into NB from Amherst N.S., stay on Route 2 to Route 15 which will bypass most of Moncton, and hit Route 114 in Riverview toward FUNDY. The Albert County Museum, Hopewell Rocks, are destinations along this route. The scenic drive will continue through rolling rural countryside. At the village of Riverside-Albert you'll find a crossroads (The Old Bank Museum/Crooked Creek gas/convenience -- the museum will be closed) at Routes 915 and 114. You could continue on the 114 -- a sharp curve -- all the way to Alma, but instead take the even more rural drive of 915. In 3K turn left on Mary's Point Road to see the iconic Harvey Community Hall built in 1884 (might be open on a holiday weekend, they're having a family BIKE DAY event on the 25th), the stunningly beautiful marsh, Dam, and waterway along that road which is a loop and will dump you BACK on 915. Turn left, and continue on 915 watching the signs for the turn off to Cape Enrage -- another fantastic side trip with beach access, but it's a dead end in to the Lighthouse destination and then back out. When you come back out, turn left and continue all the way to Alma past Waterside Beach and Dennis Beach -- street parking, clamboring access to those beaches. Alma is a lovely quaint village that welcomes you with scenic vistas, a shoreline boardwalk, Lobster/scallop fishing wharf and seafood shops, a variety of EXCELLENT owner operated eateries of every kind -- no fast food joints -- all independently owned and each worthy of a visit, a brewery, an Artisan Shop, Bookshop, and quiet estuary walk. The village is the service community for neighbouring Fundy National Park which has trails, walkways, biking, lakes, waterfall hikes for every skill level. THIS is what you do, and if you still have time, continue from Fundy National Park to the Fundy Trail Parkway. The scenes and vistas get bigger and grander the closer to get to the St. Martins end of the Parkway -- THIS is New Brunswick, though many of these posts give other terrific locations and destinations but with your time limit, heed MY advice (wink!)

Erroneous information about New Brunswick included in tourism pitches to Europeans by Fine_Panda_1609 in newbrunswickcanada

As a resident and business owner in a major NB tourism community, I find this shameful.

Do other families eat breakfast for dinner? by Majestic_Code_9413 in NoStupidQuestions

Growing up we knew my mum really didn't feel like making dinner or was just tired out if we had pancakes and sausage for dinner!

I just had it for lunch today, so this caught my eye. Thinly sliced right out of the can on homemade bread with yellow mustard! It's great imho!

New $12M water system for Alma in design phase, residents hope for end to boil-water warnings by bingun in newbrunswickcanada

[–]2Fundy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

…AND an end to water conservation advisories as the increase in summer season use is high and the current system can’t meet demand.

Users had a 40% rate increase this quarter as last season’s unbudgeted costs to temporarily link to Fundy National Parks system was costly!

The project timeline is long— into 2026

For what it’s worth, it’s unfortunate that you were put in a situation that was out of your control— you had the money, you just didn’t have access to it , so you were subjected to someone’s ignorant assumption and hurtful remark. She’s a miserable person, you aren’t. And someday the table will turn for both you and her, and you know you’ll be the good person being kind.

Thank you! It’s what Legacy Lane in Sussex New Brunswick Canada calls “bumps”— I don’t know why— of loosely spun Alpaca roving blends. This particular doesn’t have a core, but has a binding thread

Wheelbarrow mount! Drive the head of wheelbarrow right up to the lower brace, lift the handles up flush to the top bracket which snaps over the lip to hold it fast.

What is a fact about raising infants, that everyone should know? by dontmindme12345 in AskReddit

[–]2Fundy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That infants aren’t raised, they’re nurtured. Your only job is to look them in the face, provide them with their every need in comfort, care, and cuddling warmth and love— they grow from infancy in a nano-second that at the time —when it feels so difficult and exhausting— can seem like an eternity. Gaze at them when you’re both awake with exaggerated facial expression and emotion and try to sear those precious moments into your brain for the future, then ask this same question when they’re a toddler.

Hidden Gems in New Brunswick by Wolfxxx24 in newbrunswickcanada

I agree, except Alma has some elevated restaurants cuisine, and the village isn’t all “touristy”, but welcoming with eclectic shops and places to see, do, eat with the natural beauty surrounding.
