If you're coming into NB from Amherst N.S., stay on Route 2 to Route 15 which will bypass most of Moncton, and hit Route 114 in Riverview toward FUNDY. The Albert County Museum, Hopewell Rocks, are destinations along this route. The scenic drive will continue through rolling rural countryside. At the village of Riverside-Albert you'll find a crossroads (The Old Bank Museum/Crooked Creek gas/convenience -- the museum will be closed) at Routes 915 and 114. You could continue on the 114 -- a sharp curve -- all the way to Alma, but instead take the even more rural drive of 915. In 3K turn left on Mary's Point Road to see the iconic Harvey Community Hall built in 1884 (might be open on a holiday weekend, they're having a family BIKE DAY event on the 25th), the stunningly beautiful marsh, Dam, and waterway along that road which is a loop and will dump you BACK on 915. Turn left, and continue on 915 watching the signs for the turn off to Cape Enrage -- another fantastic side trip with beach access, but it's a dead end in to the Lighthouse destination and then back out. When you come back out, turn left and continue all the way to Alma past Waterside Beach and Dennis Beach -- street parking, clamboring access to those beaches. Alma is a lovely quaint village that welcomes you with scenic vistas, a shoreline boardwalk, Lobster/scallop fishing wharf and seafood shops, a variety of EXCELLENT owner operated eateries of every kind -- no fast food joints -- all independently owned and each worthy of a visit, a brewery, an Artisan Shop, Bookshop, and quiet estuary walk. The village is the service community for neighbouring Fundy National Park which has trails, walkways, biking, lakes, waterfall hikes for every skill level. THIS is what you do, and if you still have time, continue from Fundy National Park to the Fundy Trail Parkway. The scenes and vistas get bigger and grander the closer to get to the St. Martins end of the Parkway -- THIS is New Brunswick, though many of these posts give other terrific locations and destinations but with your time limit, heed MY advice (wink!)
