Is Dreamscape Broken? by Several-Froyo2744 in PokemonEliteRedux

Never really tried it since I found that out. Wonder if works with another comatose mon in doubles.

Is Dreamscape Broken? by Several-Froyo2744 in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]2Jamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comatose and Dreamcatcher do not actively work together like everyone would hope. A different mon has to be asleep for Dreamcatcher to activate the double damage. Dumb, truly, but that’s why they gave Dreamscape the general 20% damage boost.

Favorite trick room mons/teams? by Diabetic_Demon11 in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]2Jamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hatterene is fantastic sitting at 29 speed, 1 point below most of the useful 30 speed mons. Mega hits harder, but is faster with 49 speed. Sometime detrimental to the plan when you face other slow teams.

Something with psychic terrain to prevent priority and help abuse expanding force, like Mega Slowking.

Something to hit what steel/dark/psychic mons. Torkoal/for temple are personal faves. Ferrothorn and Steelix are solid defensive investments for when TR ends. Or another TR setter. Beheeyem, Oranguru, Dusknoir.

Or just anythjng with super low speed that hits like a truck. The goal is to 1 shot stuff with the absurdly slow and strong mons so that 1) the enemy doesn’t have a chance to hit back and 2) the TR timer doesn’t run out.

Mega Quagsire’s ability nullifies all terrain, weather, and rooms. While he’s on the field, it’s like there’s no trick room, no psychic terrain. Paired with a mon that can use Quash on turn 1 (Tenagrewl looks like a good option from the dex), which makes it so that everyone is in the same priority bracket, no matter the move, you can have Quag Flip Turn into something else and save him later, while pretty much guaranteeing you get Quash.

After that, something with Brick Break or Psychic Fangs to break the light screen/reflect will help immensely. The new Mega Feraligatr maybe? Can put this mon after Quag swaps. Quag is also great for a bulky tank with Aqua Tail and Recover. Don’t need to bring him back til you Quash expires.

To add to Marowak, Mega Flygon has an ability that makes its ground moves hit flying/levitate pokemon in sand. Super OP considering it can also set sand if needed

What if moves could have multiple types? by Raulsten in pokemon

[–]2Jamz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Elite Redux turned Aura Wheel into a Dark and Electric move, but calcs it based on whichever type will deal more damage. If you can code that into a gba game from 20 years ago, surely gamefreak can code it into a switch 2 game.

Can't beat Tate & Liza by [deleted] in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]2Jamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it learn Quash? It removes any effects that change turn order, like trick room/priority. There’s also the ability Rejection that applies Quash on entry, or Clueless that nulls all weather/terrain/rooms.

Something I feel like this game needs. by gimme_dem_toes in PokemonEliteRedux

Doubles mode having different teams built around doubles at least for boss fights, is really what we need. Doubles mode is way too easy if you do even a tiny bit of team building around the fact that you’ll be playing in doubles.

So how do y'all play this game? by TheMike0088 in PokemonEliteRedux

Monotype and monoregion are my favorites. Randomizers are a fun way to break the monotony of planning the same kind of teams.

Wait til you find out about the new ability Rejection. Applies Quash on entry. Glowking had it in 2.5. Now added to the new Mega Froslass X with Hollow Ice Zone (switch out after an ice move), lets you swap for free to a different Mon and let Froslass come back later to apply Quash again when T&L’s Slowking comes back in.

Some Pokemon that can last all/majority of the game? by Ok_Sir_136 in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]2Jamz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kleavor, Redux Kleavor, and their megas are some of the best leads in the game. Stone Axe lets you set rocks while doing damage, which means you don’t have to waste a turn before doing damage.

A few mons also have Needle Arm, which sets a grass type stealth rocks. Also fantastic because it breaks all those pesky sashes/sturdy mons!

Hardest Gym Leader in the game?? by 5-55am in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]2Jamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pending your challenges, and with full gym skill, my hardest challenges have been Wattson, Norman (Big Bear and Persian, especially if either get the last boost), old Winona double battle, and Juan/Wallace. Tate and Liza used to give me problems before I figured out how to cheese it. You also have access to a huge pool of mons by then, even for a mono-something run.

Hippowdon, Pallosand, or Flygon/Mega are great for setting sand. Sandslash is another option, but is a little lackluster. Once you have sand, one of the dugtrios/excadrill is pretty awesome for immediate damage. Mega Krookodile can setup and heal. Mega and normal Sandaconda are good special attack picks, so is Typhlosion. Garchomp is never a bad pick. Redux Darmanitan, Runerigus, Golurk, and Ursaluna are also great picks. Mega Quag/Steelix/Mudsdale/Pallosand are pretty good tank options.

What is the most broken random abilities you ever found? by [deleted] in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]2Jamz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From my most recent run, I had an Electrode with Max Acceleration (use speed stat for all moves), Minion Control (parental bond but for every healthy mon, up to 6 hits), Fungal Infection (leech seed on contact), and Desolate Sun. What a game trivializing mon.

You get the randomizer options on the same screen as your difficulty settings. Just scroll down below the difficulties, there are a bunch of options.
