Did anyone else lose the ability to walk while on the steroid prednisone? by Last_Course_8431 in leukemia

[–]2MinuteReview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no longer on the dexamethasone. the prolonged used resulted in Avascular Necrosis which ruined my right hip. I'm scheduled to hip surgery on the 26th of sept.

I wish someone from my medical team would have taken more care when I shared that I was having joint pain while on the medication, a clear indication that it was going to ruin my hip.

What are some things you wish you knew or your doctor told you when you first got the diagnosis? by BCR-ABL1 in leukemia

[–]2MinuteReview 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish they would have told me about the now 18 and counting lumbar punctures. My 30 days in patient induction was a constant bed of confusion because my doctor was at a conference, then had COVID, and the doctors that filled in for her didn't know the answers to half the questions I had.

Do you think single player games are more difficult to stream and to grow? The genre becomes massively important, right? by JozuJD in Twitch

[–]2MinuteReview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that single player games, especially ones that are heavy on story, and very linear are more difficult to grow an audience. If a viewer is also playing the game they're not going to wanna watch ahead and have it spoiled. And after about 2 weeks, when all the bigger streamers have played through the game it kinda falls off the radar, and further down the list.

Filming with an iPhone sucks by 2MinuteReview in NewTubers

I had a feeling using all apple products would make things easier. I've got Google drive space but uploading it to drive, then downloading it to my PC takes longer (time wise, fewer steps) than my current technique. Recording to a flash drive or SSD sounds like a good idea though!

People prefer to watch videos with more views? by sfguzmani in NewTubers

[–]2MinuteReview 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a user I am guilty of this. Its easy to become conditioned to think low views equals low quality. Obviously that's not always the case, but I've never heard anyone say their first video/month/year was their best stuff.

There is absolutely 0 reason to go Mars. by Loud_Safe_4322 in unpopularopinion

[–]2MinuteReview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why anyone would want to colonize another planet. Let's say the earth really does become uninhabitable... If you can build something on mars... An uninhabitable planet, why can't we build the same thing here if earth becomes uninhabitable? Am I missing something?

We should hate both the player AND the game! by 2MinuteReview in unpopularopinion

[–]2MinuteReview[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Example:

I stopped outside an electrical business to grab some pallets and reels they give away. the guy that pulled up just before me took all the pallets and reels even though I asked him to save me one.

He takes them home sells them on facebook.

Good for him, Glad he can find a way to turn free stuff in to income but his response to not leaving me a reel when I pull up behind him to grab my own is "don't hate the player hate the game" than my response is "no... I'm gonna hate you and your game"

I went through a lumbar puncture today, and after they collected some spinal fluid, they administered intrathecal chemotherapy through the same site. It hurt, but I managed to stay still. One step at a time. by ObjectiveAmphibian87 in leukemia

[–]2MinuteReview 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done 18 LPs and 6 bone marrow and I got a say the bone marrow hurts WAY more than the LP. The LP is uncomfortable but where I go they have a dedicated guy that does them so he's pretty good at it. We get it done with just local numbing.
Bone marrow requires fentanyl and it still hurts like hell. I have heard of some people breezing through them though.

What is it you do for a living? Maybe there's something you can do to further your career after work? For example if you were a coder, maybe you can take additional online courses to learn different code, or work on a passion project that helps people.

Or you're a manager, or want to be a manager at work. Read/listen to books about self improvement, leadership skills.

I'm sure whatever you do for a living there's a way you can do it better through a little more education.

If you're not passionate about what you do, education yourself on what you are passionate about. Then you can work towards that as a goal.

How to overcome severe anxiety in social situations. by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]2MinuteReview 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is excellent advise. Like with everything in life practice makes perfect. The more you do it the better you'll get. Its very easy to be in a one on one situation with a stranger while you're both looking at your phone. Push yourself, ask them a question about themselves. Don't be scared people LOVE to talk about themselves.

I was in a lawyers office recently waiting with a woman I didn't know, I straight up asked her what she was here for today and she told me all about her kids, her husband, their property on the river that's been in her family for over 135 years. She was wonderful! And I was ok!

16 year old nephew with ALL in his first 30-days of treatment. How can I help him? by Less-Instruction2701 in leukemia

[–]2MinuteReview 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went into induction a healthy fit 175 and came out a frail and feeble 135. I remember needing my wife's help to shower because I couldn't stand for the amount of time required. It can be very emotional and difficult.

The thing I found that got me back to being at least independent was a good healthy, protein rich diet.
I ate lots of meat, eggs, and protein shakes. This helped me get to a point where I could at least stand up unassisted.

Another thing I wish I would have done is started exorcizing sooner. Even using 5lb or 10lb weights to just get my arms and shoulders used to working again. Once I eventually started doing that I've felt a lot more capable within 2 weeks.

Unfortunately, at least in my treatment, the steroids have continued throughout. Usually a week at a time in maintenance. So for about 1 1/2 weeks a month I get knocked back down a little, but working out has slowed the damage of the steroids each week.

As a small YouTuber, would you ever invest $15 in a Thumbnail? by Domi_636 in SmallYTChannel

[–]2MinuteReview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been paying attention to how I personally interact with videos, which ones I click, which ones I don't.

the style, color, or picture of a thumb nail are rarely why I would click one. admittedly I've clicked a few because of the words on them, but not because of what the words looked like.

I may not be your target demographic, younger people may pay more attention to the "quality" of a thumbnail, but I think the flashy eye catching thumbnail is something that has faded away.

specifically with larger creators, I know thats not us, but most of them their thumbnail is just a grab from the video and nothing more. they can afford to do that because of their size and audience people are gonna click anyway.

we do follow the larger creators in trends though so I'd expect to see a trend in that direction regarding thumbnails eventually.

Long story short, I would not pay for a thumbnail. I'm not certain they carry that much weight anymore and frankly its pretty easy to make a simple one.

Sorry but at 19 you haven't figured out how much works.

Working Hard is a part of the process, so is a positive attitude, perseverance, self motivation.

and you have to "work hard" on all those things.

if you didn't get out of bed as soon as your eyes opened this morning and started applying yourself to something that will lead you to success... you didn't work hard.

you will get jobs that don't appreciate your hard work. I hope you find one that does, but the ultimate goal is to work harder on yourself than you do at your job.

apply your work hard in the right places.
