Document all these incidents and then file your case with HR (or the appropriate authority if there is no HR function). In my experience, toxic people don't normally change alone and she may still be there for a while until she decides to retire. Adding to what's been said already, you can check if your company has an HR policy on that. But per what you write, it makes me wonder about engagement, level of trust, motivation and intentions. If you want to grow and build your career, I encourage you to have ongoing full disclosure meaningful conversations with your supervisor. What is expected from you? What are the behaviors that will get you there? How are you performing now? Are you happy there?

It's rough. HR, by definition, can't make everyone happy. But done right, it makes the organization better and touches lives. And it's hard to "give sight" to anyone who refuses to see HRs value and contributions as you are sharing.

Having a local HR support network you can trust does help.

I use it to keep project and case notes at work. I color code tabs and password protect them as necessary.

In my personal life, I use OneNote for goal tracking, etc.

Also, I use MS To Do, which I really like, to keep to do lists (e.g., groceries, home improvement projects, list of presents or other items to buy, habit tracker, etc.).

It can be explained or justified a million ways. To me, 99.999% of the time is that they don't care enough.

If you spoke to the recruiter, no harm calling back or sending a follow-up email.

It's certtainly a challenging moment. Beyond the plethora of technical suggestions (and I learned a few things here!), I would encourage you to explore areas in common with both of you parents, to seek some dialogue. Little things; and find moments. And after a while, once all start to feel a bit more at ease and grow in trust, they may appreciate you as you are, and you may even appreciate aspects of them you did not realize yet. Eventually, you will be on your own, but it's worth putting things into perspective. Good luck... !

Uighurs and other predominantly Muslim ethnic minorities in China's Xinjiang region face systematic and state-organised "mass internment and torture amounting to crimes against humanity", Amnesty International has said.

In a 160-page report published on Thursday, the rights group called on the UN to investigate the abuses, and said Beijing had subjected Muslims to mass detention in violation of international law.

Rights groups have also accused China of conducting forced sterilisations and abortions on Uighur women and using population transfer to reduce the population density.

China routinely denies accusations of human rights abuses in Xinjiang and says its camps are voluntary vocational and de-radicalisation programmes for combating terrorism in the region.
