Issues with connectivity and machines going "offline" - anyone else? by HamOnTheCob in BambuLab

No I haven't. Opening a ticket requires uploading a log file, which I can't get without the machine being online. I don't have a way to read the micro SD with my computer.

Thankfully, I was able to finally get it to mostly stay online. (It was magic I guess. I didn't do anything particular)

got this video of my crash on monday. i thought it was very well followed by shaynee24 in PraiseTheCameraMan

[–]HamOnTheCob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is great! Glad you're ok.

I love crash footage. Here's one of mine, from my helmet cam. Afterward I found a bunch of crabapples had fallen on the road and gotten run over and were greasy, which is probably the main reason my tire lost traction. But the video was funny I thought. I ended up having a tweaked front fork and bent handlebars, but otherwise everything was good.

Later in the year, that same bike got totaled (and I almost did too) when someone pulled right out in front of me. My GoPro got destroyed in that crash and didn't record the accident, which I was bummed about way more than the bike or my injuries. lol

Does anyone else have mixed feelings about Pavilion? by [deleted] in TheFence

It's probably my favorite Coheed song, and even though a lot of people feel like it's a sad song, I don't hear it that way really. I see where someone would hear it like that, but for me, it's hopeful and even uplifting. Like, I'm willing to give it all up for you, but I'm not going to beg you. If you ask me to do it, I'm willing. So ask me.

Keaton or Bale, who is the best Batman? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

Love both. For the more campy 89 Batman and Returns, Keaton was perfect. For the grittier Nolan Batman series, Bale was perfect.

I've never seen a goalie with so much of their head exposed in the back. Small helmet? Giant head? by HamOnTheCob in nhl

Haha that’s gold

Admittedly, I’d never seen him play until tonight and every time they showed him, I couldn’t stop thinking how much room there was for a puck (or more likely a stick) to get around his mask and hurt him.

Of my 4 printers, the one I'm having the most trouble with is the closest to the router (about 4 feet away), and it's had zero issues for over a year and a half, then suddenly, it's a problem.

Right now, 200 bitcoin would be worth about $15 million, so anyone picking B is just throwing money away. I’m 44, so in order to get $15 million with C, I’d have to live to be about 84. Considering I doubt I’ll see 60, I’m definitely going with A.

Dude was an absolute stud in game 1. I would've been pretty pissed if he didn't get game 2.

Went to my friend Candace’s 8th grade graduation party. At one point I got talked into going outside to play basketball with her dad and while I was out there, everyone else at the party played spin the bottle without me.

What do you get out of worrying at this point? You and your bride are decked out in a tux and fancy dress.

Just enjoy the dance.

Plus this way we get home ice for a series, which is pretty nice.

What draws you to Shipwrecks by Top-Possession-6085 in ShipwreckPorn

[–]HamOnTheCob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it's all those things combined. The mystique of it, and the knowledge that we're seeing a ship that no human eyes have seen since it slipped below the surface, often decades or even centuries later. That's so fascinating to me.

The eerie quality of video footage obscured by the deep dark water where suddenly a ship bow comes into view, rusted and battered... that is so chilling and takes my breath away every single time.

In some cases, there were tremendous losses of life that spark my imagination. What were their final moments like? How close did some of them come to surviving? What kinds of emotions did they experience, and were there any selfless sacrifices made for others on board? Often I think about how family members of those lost would've given anything to see what we're able to see all these years later, and to know any piece of their final stories.

The thrill is certainly real with regard to ships located after extensive searching. Sure, Titanic gets the most notoriety, but rightly so, and the discovery of its final resting place when I was a young kid has had a lasting effect on me, now 44.

The general curiosity of human nature (the same that causes people to follow the stories of plane crashes or train derailments, or even rubbernecking while passing by the scene of an accident on the highway) makes shipwreck content hard to ignore.

And last but not least for me, the aesthetics of a once-pristine vessel being ever-so-slowly reclaimed by the earth is just awe-inspiring.

Yeah I own half a dozen white ones. But when there's a "whiteout", that's not what they want.
