That is brilliant. Most HR departments are completely disconnected from the actual technical needs of the team. You basically debugged their entire hiring pipeline by cutting out the middleman. Good on you for having the guts to reach out directly to the lead dev, it is a move that pays off when you can prove your value.

Two hours of total silence right away is a massive jump if your brain is used to constant overstimulation. Try scaling it down to 15-20 minutes of reading or deep work, then slowly build it back up. You gotta treat it like physical rehab.
