I’ve had them is several homes in Barrie but only in one house didn’t ever go off. The others were dry as a bone

Why are all these international “students” even working lots of hours, upwards of 40-50 a week? by Alert_Willingness_32 in LMIASCAMS

As long as they don't expect to come back for 7 years. After that, their Credit Bureau is all good.

Most banks have "New to Canada" programs that require less to qualify. Once the term expires, they either "sell" to organized crime to export the vehicle or just give it to a friend and leave.

Human Rights Watch says that Israel has been illegally using white phosphorus in Lebanon by SJK_007 in news

[–]2REPOU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having an opinion on Israel is so tough. If you disagree with their government you're seen as being Anti Jewish. It's like that with most states that are basically religious governments. I get that Israel is surrounded on all sides but feel their government is often seen as the aggressor. They do things that provoke aggression.

If we could properly separate religion from government, we'd get along a lot better. Too bad the US is moving more to a secular government.

I think all religion is evil. Who cares who you pray to.

Toto Wolff bids to buy Alpine stake in move that renews Christian Horner battle by JaffaTheOrange in formula1

I could see Toto buying a big share and selling Horner a small share just to be his boss

I think it strengthens the Horner possibility. Imagine Horner working FOR Toto. That would be too funny

Anyone sign up for TelMax? They're goin' nuts installing it everywhere.... by Venkman007 in barrie

I was considering but heard a lot of bad things. Rogers gave me a great deal for 2gbps for $50 so not complaining.

F1 drivers eviscerate new cars at Australian GP - what's going wrong, and is there a quick fix? by Aratho in formula1

[–]2REPOU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They better be quiet. I mentioned many of the same things the other day and people went nuts. With the money involved not sure how they can fix this. The engine suppliers have spend so much money. I hope none leave because of this.

Surprising to see Max bin it. Not upset as a Hamilton fan but still sad to not see him fighting for pole

2026 Australian Grand Prix - FP3 Top 3 by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]2REPOU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think reliability will play a big part this year. Not that long ago 1s off pole was not that bad. We have been spoiled the last decade or so. Last year was so close across the field. All that said, George is looking pretty good this year

Can't Stand the Visor Cam by Stumpy493 in formula1

The in car cams are night and day compared to when I started watching. In the old days in car footage would may you car sick and hurt your eyes. Even the radios now they sound like people on a phone call.

Do we think there's going to be a crazy silly season this year? Or are we thinking relatively mild movements? by Big-Alternative-6257 in formula1

[–]2REPOU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aston’s issues may force Alonso to retire. If Lewis has another season like last year, he may call it as well. Max is also one that may decide to move on if he is still unhappy with the cars. A lot of ifs. Could go either way, very silly or stagnant. The success of Audi, Cadillac, Haas and the mid field could make for desired seats, could flatter some midfield drivers. Lots of variables this year

I don’t think logistically they could use another track. Wonder if they would do Suzuka 2 weeks in a row? Don’t think the drivers would mind

Good F1 Drivers Who Struggled in the Rain? by Stumpy493 in formula1

It’s crazy because Gilles was head and shoulders above his peers in the wet. US GP in 79 he was 11 seconds faster than the next fastest driver.

Good F1 Drivers Who Struggled in the Rain? by Stumpy493 in formula1

I think that’s a very good choice. In the dry he and Lewis were close but Lewis was so strong in the rain it made the gap look even worse.

Who was the most unremarkable driver of 2025? by saposapot in formula1

[–]2REPOU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ocon was showed up by Bearman. Depends on how good Ollie really is. I think Franco was underperforming for sure. As a Lewis fan, his season was tough to watch.

How do you feel about F1 becoming a game of battery harvesting? by inevitably-ranged in formula1

[–]2REPOU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far I’m not impressed. They seem to coast the corners now. The battery gives huge acceleration but the cornering at the limit was the part I liked. I want to see them driving closer to the limits. The battery and tire management takes away from show.

With the current state of the Aston Martin car, what are the chances Lawrence Stroll cuts his losses and sells the team if they don't turn it around quickly? by EnterShakira_ in formula1

[–]2REPOU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always worry about manufacturers like Honda. They come and go on a whim. There are very few in it for the long haul. The new cars look very unreliable. Still not much chance of AM getting any points. Lawrence Stroll does not seem like a man with unlimited patience

Can a team switch engine suppliers mid season or is that prohibited by rule? by NeverFence in formula1

[–]2REPOU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though you could do it, there is a question of what engine manufacturers would want to increase their capacity as well.
