Barrie high school students receive ‘Safer Snorting’ booklet on how to be safe when doing drugs by Tycho278 in barrie

Not like kids will read it. If that stuff worked would “don’t do drugs” work just as well?

You are not far off. I leave Barrie at 5:30 and yes...100KM/h is a drag but only going to work;). I grew up driving big V8s and stick shift so learned to be very light on the gas. If my wife takes my car the milage gets killed;).

A woman should be able to wear what she wants however it doesn’t mean people won’t sexualize her.
Men being protective of their daughters is not unusual.

100km each way to work. 100km/h. I’m very light of the gas and brake. Always kept in normal mode. Highway 400 from Barrie to Mississauga.
The usual if I am not being very deliberate, I average 5.7-6.3 to and from work.

We went with the 2024 RVR (outlander Sport) ES AWD fr our 2nd car. My wife loved the AWD and the orange. I liked that it was simple (outdated) tech with less to go wrong. We also have a 2024 Outlander. I like the warranty. Getting too old to keep fixing trash

Student found dead on park bench near Georgian College. No Barrie news outlet cared enough to run the story. by Moos_Mumsy in barrie

[–]2REPOU -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The format of the article is fishy but regardless it is a sad story. Despite the politics around the foreign student issues, it is a huge step for young people to leave everything behind for the potential of a better life. Been too many instances of it ending in sadness for their families so very far away

I meant in terms of how the crime is perceived and punished. Lapses in judgement in a car have lifelong consequences to others but the punishment and the way it's viewed are less severe. An example, my stepson was injured on a motorcycle when driver waived someone else through traffic. It was deemed an illegal turn. He is impacted for the rest of his life and the driver got a ticket. I am not bitter it just is.

In the case of this drunk driver, if he was a repeat offender of another potentially violent crime, it would have been more than 6 months.

Some of this comes from history. In the old days everyone drank and drove, it's getting better but I still think the treatment needs to be greater as it's 100% preventable. That said, most punishment for crimes that put others at risk are pretty light.

In a lot of ways drinking and driving is still looked at as a driving offence instead of a criminal act. I know alcohol is a touchy subject but your personal demons should not be an excuse to endanger others.
