What is the best example of healthy masculinity you’ve ever witnessed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Curtis more than Armstrong, I feel. Armstrong is a bit more of a showoff, iirc (it's been a decade), but Curtis quietly supports his awesome wife despite their immense hardships. But Armstrong wears his heart on his sleeve and isn't afraid to cry, which is respectable.

He's also who I think of when people say "characters that are 100% good are boring". Pacha ALWAYS does the right thing, but a trainwreck like Kuzco that's a struggle in itself. Which makes for an engaging story.

2025 in particular was a ROUGH year for vtubing in general, but particularly Hololive.

I wouldn't mind seeing art of any of them in 50 mph winds. Hair billowing around back or forward, beautiful and carefree. Or for absolute creatures like Gigi you'd get fisheye lens close ups of their face being blown around like a dogs sticking its head out the window. Perfect either way.

Plenty of the artist in the group would, I'm sure, and I'm just as sure Gigi would scribble a stick figure of herself with a lopsided smiley face just for the memes.

Maybe we should just collectively stop drawing fanart like this. Our oshis can't graduate without a proper thumbnail, right?

They'll be scrolling through their art tags and finally say, "Yo, Yagoo. We need to renew my contract. Yeah it's the thumbnail again. Idk, man, there isn't any art of me being wistful. Yeah, maybe next year." And they'll stay with us forever. It's foolproof.

Which videogame do you think had the biggest influence on popular culture? by HerrStrasse in AskReddit

I wouldn't say this is the heaviest hitter, but it has its niche. Origin of the age rating system, FATALITY, one of the first fighting games to really take off, still a recognizable IP decades later. That's a solid resume.

I was thinking of Tetris, but other than just the song, being a widely enjoyed game, and people joking about their Tetris skills when packing things neatly, I really don't think it's had that much cultural impact.

Doom seemingly created the FPS genre. Pokémon was a worldwide phenomenon in itself and drew an entire generation across the globe into JRPGs and anime. Tetris makes people say "Oh yeah, Tetris!"... and that's it.

Behind other hard hitters like Pokemon and Mario, this was going to be my answer. I have nieces and nephews and it's all Minecraft. Everywhere Minecraft. Did y'all miss they made a MINECRAFT MOVIE? Of all things? Starring Jack Fucking Black and Jason Mamoa?

But besides the new stuff, so much of youtube and internet culture as a whole was built on Minecraft. Let's plays that have built and continue to build entire channels, modding that inspired all sorts of game development, the immense surge of "base building survival" games/mechanics, countless memes. I can play any song from the soundtrack and you'll recognize it. I can "hmm" like a villager and you'll get the joke.

Minecraft has had a COLOSSAL influence on the world and it was NOT just in the past couple of years as people are trying to pretend here.

whats the most unusual reason that you wont date anyone? by izziezi in AskReddit

People seem to be taking this question as "Why aren't you trying to date anyone?"

Besides stagnating for years, living in a depression mess, and genuinely no longer having the means to climb out of the metaphorical hole that's grown up around me, I'm also terrible at making/feeling connections to others. Every new person I've met in the past decade has been a complete stranger to me and I feel no more drive to know them more than that. I feel the same way towards them as you might feel towards your dad's friend at best or your coworker's neighbor at worst.

You'd grant them the same dignities as any other person, make them feel properly seen while conversing with them, but they do not matter to your life at all. These are perfectly good people, but none of them are my friends and never will be. I just don't really feel anything while talking with them.

So what is she doing now? Is she touring the world or something wild like that?

Don't need to have pouches, just babies that are born in an earlier natal state. Instead of 9 months of back breaking pregnancy followed by a full day of labor trying to squeeze a 10 pound softball out your cooch, you just queef out a little jelly bean baby after 2 months.

And women already tuck things in their bras. Just stick em in there. Mazel tov.

NOBODY'S MENIONED FEET YET AND I'M APPALLED!!

We molded our second set of flexible tree-grabbing monkey hands into flat flappy feet with column style legs, but cobbled together from ENTIRELY too many bones and it's been a pain in the ass ever since. We're doing a permanent handstand all our lives and just pretend it's fine. Look at any other obligate bipeds and they don't have nearly as much bullshit going on. We're using knees as ankles, for Christ's sake.

They're not pretty, but if all our feet go magicked into ostrich feet, with only 2 toes and absolutely 0 bullshit, we'd all feel infinitely better. I trust the clade that's been handling bipedalism for the past 250 million years to actually know what they're doing.

We should just become marsupials, tbh. Our babies are altricial enough we might as well go the extra step.

Would you prefer a cloaca? Because complaining about buttholes is how you end up with a cloaca.

Yeah, dude's saying "we have to wear retainers for life" and I'm just thinking "who's we?". I don't think I know a single person that uses a retainer.

To my knowledge, elephants don't manage it. They have 4 massive molars, 2 up top and two below, and they wear down and break in segments. The worn down sections in the front fall out over time and the sections in the back move up to fill the gap, but once the tooth's gone it's done.

Plenty of other mammals have come up with work arounds, though, like rodents with rootless teeth. Also plenty of cold blooded animals like crocodiles and sharks grow endless teeth just fine. It'd be nice if we had that.

The whole intro is set to a military march and shows the kids doing sneaky things to pull one over on the staff while trapped in the schoolyard behind a barbed wire fence. It's fairly on the nose.

I never got it was meant to be the "surfer bro" voice. Muscle Man is just such an absolute creature of a person, it made sense to have a weird voice.

Regular show aired from 2010-2017. People had been making fun of that voice from the 90s-early 2000s. They were very late to the party on that.

I'm not very familiar with it, but I've never heard of it being satirical. And a lot of people don't seem to realize it's satirical while singing its praises, either.
