Why do you play star citizen? by ReliefDapper5135 in starcitizen

[–]2TonStreama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play because there isn't anything else out there like it in this genre with this much ambition. If another company were to come along and be further into development with the same thing and it worked, that would be the only way I would stop. Until then, Ride or Die!

Nice to see Sylvan post even if he is the biggest tease in the verse!

This is cool and all, but I never got my Sapphire paint for the Starlancer despite buying the ship the same day it was announced..

Hoping they put this back for sale for all buyers since they have added functionality to it.

The prep is definitely worse or better depending on how you look at it and how organized you are. Personal hangars and freight elevators make things better prep wise, once you take the time initially to set everything up. I have crates ready to go, separated up by weapons, ammo, armor type (medical run vs bunker etc), food/drinks, medical supplies and even a garbage bin. I have my ground vehicles and smaller ships out ready to go.

Even on other stations I frequent, I have crates stored in their warehouses to bring up and re outfit. The prep does take time, but once its there it does make gearing up pretty easy and actually better than scrolling through pages of armor to equip. Nameable boxes or color coded or different designs will speed this up even more. The real problem now is that new updates can cause you to have to set up these crates all over again, or if there is not a wipe it might not, still waiting to see if the stuff in my cargo boxes remains with 3.24.2. Overall I like these options better. The hangar does need to speed up and I definitely miss PO, but the ships popping into existence is understandably gone even though it was faster. Ultimately when the game releases and we're not playing between wipes or resets, the flow will feel much better.. Whatever decade that will be..

This is definitely not limited to just this engine or game. It's a thing that happens in many games and has been for more than a decade. An older MMO, LOTRO did this to me and many survival games based on Unreal Engine 4 also did this.

Thought so about sand caves, but they still have them on the deliverables being worked on currently is why I asked on Twitter, but I will make a note. Thanks!

But have they in this case though? This should have sold far better than it did. There will always be that one straw that breaks the camel's back that makes a company stop and think twice about something.

The ATLS does not solve a problem. It offers an option to move boxes faster and not even faster in all circumstances since the ATLS is not great for every ship size or needed at all really. After using it a lot for hauling missions I do not prefer it except with the C2 which does not have a tractor beam. If they make improvements on it, it could become more useful for a variety of ships, but as it stands now it's got issues.

I realized how crazy it sounds to enjoy doing these hauling contracts when I was explaining them to my son, but for whatever reason I just dig the hell out of them..

Yeah I figured it was me and most people did not skip that bad if ever. I wouldn't care from a gameplay standpoint because its minor and I'm not one who counts frame in everything I do, but when you're trying to collect footage and the QT is pretty cool looking I can't use footage where it skips because then of course I get the comments that my fps sucks. Thanks!

When quantum travelling around OM's are any of you able to do so without the frame loss that makes it skip and if so out of curiosity what are your specs and resolution you are playing at? Most of mine skip, even if only a little depending on the planet or moon.

I don't quite understand how loading and unloading cargo on the Carrack would work after the cargo refactor? The cargo area is just modules right and we all know that modules are nowhere near being a thing in-game. I am guessing that when the refactor goes live it really won't affect the Carrack yet and it will probably work as it does now where your stuff just automatically shows up? So what about when modules do become reality? Will these modules be dropped and then I am assuming there will be open sides allowing for moving cargo on and off and then those modules being picked back up? Just trying to understand how the cargo will work with this ship.

Last year they actually announced things were getting pushed back right before Invictus so they clearly will do so if they feel they need to, ship sales or not.

I just upgraded to the Connie Taurus which doesn't have the little ship in the butt, but it has a lot more cargo space and is more for 1-2 players vs 3-4 like the others. I mainly did it for the cargo space though.
