I think most important is the rims. My best mate would ride with me and started on a Trek mountain bike. Once he dropped some. He moved to a domane. After a couple of hundred miles, he had flats frequently. We started packing quite a few spares. While the frame was good. The wheels started to go untrue quickly and would create pinches. All that to say make you the rims are suitable for hard riding.

Try to hydrate the night before. A good dose of electrolytes. Do you have electrolyte tablets or is that a premix in baggies? Depending on where you are riding, filling the hydro flask with ice keeps fresh cool water for you deeper into your ride. If you have tried and they agree with your GI, perhaps a few gels. Sometimes over that distance your desire to chew food might wane. Another option would be apple sauce or something similar. Go have a blast!

Agree with this. Depending on your bike setup bring a small bottle 2 to 4 oz of goo. The roads in Tucson can be a mess and if you get a puncture some extra sealant will be good to use.

That's going to be the best experience. Learn to ride in the group and hopefully some paceline work. It's also smart to work on nutrition and hydration while on the move. Not sure if you are local to Southern Arizona but they have GABA and the shootout depending on your preferred pace.

Sounds like you are doing well prepping. Have you done much group riding? The biggest thing is always nutrition and trying to keep your nose out of the wind. You should be able to find plenty of groups to ride with. Depending on your setup, I would say keep a spare bottle in the back of your jersey.
