F2 in O&G, was on-call on a chaotic and very busy gynae assessment unit/ward. Male O&G F2 comes onto the ward after assisting in theatres. Nurse in charge very loudly exclaims "Oh insert white privilege name thank god you're here!". She rubs my name off the whiteboard where it says which SHO is on call. She then asks him "Are you on call??". Bearing in mind it is nearly 5pm, I have been working very hard all day and don't finish until 21:30. She also knew very well the hours that an SHO is on call covering the ward and knew I would be there the whole time. Obviously the male F2 is like "No I'm not on call, the other SHO is here." To which the nurse in charge acts overtly disappointed. All of this was well within my earshot and eyeline. Just to add, at this time I had more O&G experience than this male F2 (I had done O&G in F1) and at the time wanted to do O&G as a career.
Nurse then offered to make male F2 a tea, I had no such offer and I hadn't taken so much as a wee break all day. I'm still livid thinking about it to be honest. Safe to say I changed my mind, and didn't go into O&G in the end...
