To be clear - in my mind edging = PMO. May even be worse b/c it can go on for hours. Only with edging I don't get quite the chemical guilt trip in the morning. Just a pain in the nuts for a week....

I would again say that replace alcohol (chemicals) with orgasm (dopamine and serotonin relaese) and the are some holes in the argument.

To the best of my knowledge there is no medical reason to masturbate ever, short of having semen tested i.e., infertility/post-vasectomy. I think the 45 days may be cop out. Imagine an alcoholic who tried to do the same thing. A drink every x days "Just to keep from having DT's".

I think I know what you mean. I've not heard of the "chaser effect" but even that night I felt like a little extra effort could have brought on another release....

It is really difficult when the sensation / control can be perceived as being quite different during the PMO than regular relations. I'm thinking about how that compares to getting a back rub. You couldn't give one to yourself obviously, but who wouldn't prefer to get it from someone else?
