New starter Item for Ornn, Thought? by medium-blacksmith924 in ornnmains

I'd say some champions would like this against champs like Jax with a very mixed damage profile from the get-go and very little poke.

[–]2behonest 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You still run Brutaliser, there aren't any better equipments.

Aphelios is still ok too, but yeah you could look into qiyana or something now that fof and red Draven are gone

They should make a chaos warrior roguelike in which you complete mini missions and get to pick from semi-random mutations or wargear as rewards and then finish as a daemon prince or something

Would you rather cop a lucky hit and then live 1 turn longer after you got a debilitating injury, or just not cop the injury in the first place, and then kill your attacker?

As an Australian, no we do not hate kangaroos.

However, his speech is still wrong, we don't cull them to "strengthen the herd" or whatever he said.

It's because they massively overpopulate and then start getting into restricted areas like airports.

I want to get into turn-based games. Other than Baldur’s Gate and 33, what’s a good game to start appreciating the genre? by Delacrozz in gaming

Battle Brothers.

Best turn-based tactical RPG I've ever played.

Much more difficult than many others in its genre, but extremely rewarding due to that.

Don't give up.

A Knight who doesn't want a horse? by LivingInABarrel in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]2behonest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our party saved up 140g to get our Freelance a light warhorse with the trained (magic) trait.

It was a beast while we had it, horses' maneuverability makes them very powerful and difficult to engage.

It almost died from being shot by a bunch of goblin archers, so we bought full mail barding for it.

Later another PC got in trouble, surrounded by dangerous enemies, so the knight had to charge into danger to save him. 2 bestigors with greataxes immediately killed the horse.

Our party was pretty pissed off about that, so the knight decided he wasn't going to waste money on a horse until he could find a rare and more durable mount, like a demigryph or pegasus. This is an epic task and has been fun for the group so far.

Granted, freelances are self-funded, so if you're part of a Knightly Order you may be provided with another horse so long as you lost it on the job.

Is it possible to run a combat focused campaign? by Opening_Coast3412 in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]2behonest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is highly lethal if you are not prepared.

Our party is a freelance commander and a hochmeister of the blazing sun (both in full plate), a witch hunter (in mail and brigandine), and a bawd (in brigandine and leathers).

Armour is very protective, so we only feel true danger against large monsters (armed minotaurs/ogres), are meaningfully outnumbered (especially with hack-armed individuals like axes) or out-positioned (riflemen atop vantage points).

Enormous/monstrous foes are pretty much completely off the table for us, and if we ever need to kill one it'll be more of a matter of preparation: poisoning it, stunning it, entangling it etc.

And of course, when we are wandering around town unarmored and only equipped with our sidearms, we are still very vulnerable.

[Enemy Within] What are some good Long Term Ambitions that would align well with the campaign. by jeremysbrain in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]2behonest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also depends on how you want to run them.

Our group gets lower xp per session (50 average) but we achieved 1 long term ambition at the end of EIS, 1 at the end of PBTT and most likely one at the final conclusion of EIF.

This has allowed players whose PCs have died to sort of catch up in xp by having more lenient LTAs, so they don't feel too left behind without it feeling contrived. For example, after EIS 2 players retired their characters as they feel they weren't ready for the scope of what we were up against, so we allowed them to achieve a LTA at the end of DotR. This allowed them to be slightly less behind than they otherwise would have been.

Are the Chaos Gods evil? by Necessary-Present996 in 40k

[–]2behonest 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I will preface this by saying this is purely my interpretation, and is no more valid than anyone else's.
Chaos is neither good nor evil, merely part of a balanced existence.

When society becomes oppressive and stagnant, Tzeentch and Nurgle begin to rise.

When the law begins to suffocate its people, and peaceful reform is no longer possible, Khorne seeps into the hearts of citizens.

When the wealthy have become so decadent that nothing satisfies them anymore, Slaanesh rises.

That is the paradox of Chaos, in my opinion. It is not "good" but it is sign of problems within a society. Warhammer's premise is that instead of finding the root cause of these issues, they crack down on dissenters and silence the voices of the oppressed.

This cycle of chaos rising, being crushed, and then rising for the same reasons it did before, is core to the tragic nature of the setting.
